Comments Thread For: Dmitry Bivol-David Benavidez should be next, not Artur Beterbiev trilogy

After Dmitry Bivol's dethroning of Artur Beterbiev as undisputed light heavyweight champion, all the talk is about a trilogy fight. Owen Lewis believes it?s too late.

They were great fights but I don't want to see them again. Let them fight different guys

      Artur deserves an immediate rematch

Artur could have easily walked off with a controversial decision after fight 1 but honorably instaRematched

Id rather see Artur vs Benavidez with the winner facing Bivol, AB vs DB would be a war for the ages one of the best fights in boxing.

Beterbiev no longer has it anymore. He is slow and can't hang with guys that are fast.
Bivol-benavidez makes more sense now. Forget canelo-benavidez. Let benavidez attempt to take on and beat the guy that beat canelo. Do something that canelo failed to do.

Let's move on. It is interesting that many Beterbiev fans have a hard time with accepting what has happened (again). I like both Bivol and Beterbiev and as a general rule like more violent fighters like Beterbiev that knock people out and I am not too crazy about supreme boxers like Bivol. BUT, it is time to accept that Beterbiev lost - probably twice now.

During the fight yesterday, Sky Sports were publishing the fan score and it was in Bivol's favour all the way, I believe 3 points at the end and 4 points after round 11. I know die hard Beterbiev fans will never accept this but majority of fans and commentators agree on this.

There is no controversy. Bivol is just better. Time to accept it and move on. Bring on another challenger - Benavidez deserves the first dibbs.

Iz really makes no sense for Benavidez. He wants the shot on the belts, not risk getting stopped in non-title fight.

Gary Jonas' puppets lobbying (again!) on behalf of Gary's friend Scampson Lekosomething and his fighter.

That sky viewers scorecard was bs.

Both fights were close enough to have resulted in draws or close decisions either way, which they did.

Whether a third fight will put much distance between them is debatable. But that's why fights are made.

Nothing happens with either fighter until the trilogy so just deal with it and wait. Regardless of anyone’s opinion that’s how the score is settled. Beterbiev won the first and now Bivol won the second the third will determine the better man.
