It's amazing how Wilder fanboys continue to come with new excuses for Wilder turning down that DAZN deal. Excuses that even Wilder and his team never thought about at the time! We know why he turned it down. He turned it down because he was under Al Haymon's thumb and Haymon didn't want the biggest fight in boxing going to DAZN in the US, rather than Showtime.
The 2 fights with AJ absolutely were guaranteed in the contract DAZN offered to Wilder, contingent on Wilder winning his mando vs Breazeale and AJ not losing either. AJ's Sky contract wouldn't have stopped him fighting on DAZN in the US. DAZN weren't even operating in the UK at that time.
AJ's Sky contract would have prevented him accepting the $50million offer he got from Finkel because, as we later found out, part of the funding for that offer came from BT Sports, who wanted to screen the fight in the UK, and AJ had an exclusivity deal with Sky in the UK.
