And so on and so forth. It entails risks, but Loma and Teo had no issues taking them. It's looking like Haney wants no part of these low-reward fights known as stay-busy fights. Some even call them tuneups.
The question is why. I think a lot of people assume it's the money. It may well be... There's just a possibility that he's got some issues along the lines of self-confidence, his weight, etc. I hope it works out for him

Which is why it's in no way an open-and-shut case for the accusers. Not to mention the difficulty of proving small amount of substance suddenly becomes similar to Popeye the sailor man taking spinach to beat Brutus like a rag-doll. You're fooling yourself if you believe in fantasy. Conduct a survey and see if you can convince people with that nonsense.

Haney is in a situation where he can't even take the Matiases, Ortiz, Commey, Puello, Martin, Pitbull, Ramirez, even the JZepedas, Taylor, etc. They're still high risks to him, but low reward. And it's understandable. Anyone would rather get beat by a top guy and be rewarded with better money. It's no different from Jermall who'd rather not fight at all and just wait for his turn to the Canelo sweepstakes. Unfortunately for him, it didn't happen.

The Liam Paro fight would have been that type of high risk, but high reward fight for him. That's the fight Hearn has been working out for him. Looks like he turned it down. Could be he's not ready to shed that huge weight of his, or simply don't feel like coming back in the ring yet.

Your post above outlined the situation with excellent details... Yes. All his fights are sort of a perpetual "B side" where the A side is circumstances lol. he is still a kid and all these guys forget that man strength cometh and so does weight. My own younger boy is finding this out, having been upset at his 160 pound frame, and seeing a growing spurt. But you just do not see the fighters prepare for this inevitability. Some guys like Tank and Pitbull Cruz seem to be able to stay at a weight... Cruz is very young as well, but does not look like he is getting bigger.

Not long ago when Haney was preparing for Prograis I watched him on Youtube hitting a bag, and you could see how much bigger he had gotten!

These young guys are not in it for the same reasons... Hence the "sweep stakes" looking for that opportunity at a big fight. It is a shame it does not appear to be dong them any favors...

Sometimes it seems the only people that do not realize how important this fight is are the Haneys. It is like they are oblivious to the fact haney needs to beat Garcia. And Boo Hoo Hoo!!! Life isn't fair for poor Devin because Garcia cheated... I do not buy it. Said it before will say it again, Haney may not have broken laws but is excessive hydration was eyebrow raising, he is hardly a victim. A young guy with millions in the bank crying about Ryan and his cheating is ridiculous. make a fight that will be a real nice payday and either lose again and call it a career, or claim redemption. It is a simple problem, with a simple solution.

If he cannot face Garcia again, take your money buy up *******, and invest in real estate...

Haney ain't fighting those 2nd-tier guys. Getting beat by those levels is probably worse than getting beat by Ryan Garcia.

More specific question is which fight would give him the money he demands other than Teo or a rematch with Garcia?

I can't think of any other than Tank, who has perpetually snubbed him since time immemorial, not to mention the now huge weight difference. Shakur is not a money fight, again not to mention the huge difference in weight. Who else is there that would motivate him to go back in the ring? He's basically done.

It's becoming typical these days. Go only for the money fights. Unfortunately, there's not many of them and clock begins to tick counting the number of years you've been out of the ring.

I don't know but do we all have to pretend that Haney is unbeaten? That we never saw him get his ass kicked? Nash out - His Excellency
