  • Who do want Haney to fight next?

At some point he has to make a comeback, whether it's for a stay-busy or a tuneup. Or is he at a point where he has lost interest in boxing? When do you think is the proper time for him to come back?

Been almost six months since his fight with Garcia. And with no potential fight scheduled, he'll soon approach one year of aimlessly roaming around all over the place not knowing what to do next.

What are you taking about? He has a fight scheduled with Liam Paro.

He became "Champion in recess" requiring a year out of the ring. So he likely fights Alberto Puello when he comes back. Outside of that, a rematch with Garcia is the only interesting thing I think he can do. But he probably will object to the concept.

AFAIK, Puello is fighting Martin, so it's assume Haney fights the winner. That is if the money offer suddenly becomes bigger than the one he turned down.

I don't care who he fights as long as he fights soon... It almost seems as if he's lost focus and has let the success he's achieved get to his head. He's still young and can be involved in some big fights..

You need to ask Eddie Hearn that question. That's whom Haney begs fights from, who else?

Haney turned down the Paro fight, which Eddie has been working on after the Matias fight. Paro has expressed approval on that fight and sees it as a money fight in Australia. (Check out recent NSB articles.)

Haney is even fighting with Eddie now. He's biting the hand that feeds him.

Doesn't really matter. He's a weight bully at 140 with no power and will get destroyed at 147. He SHOULD fight any of the champs at 140. My preference would be Teo, and their dads can scrap on the undercard, because they'll do it for free outside the ring otherwise.

I'd like to see him take on Tank or rematch Loma at 135, but doubt he can make it. I'm not even sure he makes 140 again. He's built to be welter or super welter, which is why he's 25 lbs up on fight night. And I think Ryan took his soul. I don't really want to see him rematch Ryan because I don't think Ryan deserves that money again, but he might honestly need that for his own peace of mind, because I bet that, despite what he says, he's wondering if it would have happened anyways despite the PEDs.

From what I saw, the issue was technical and strategic. Ryan has only EVER had one weapon. The left hook is the only thing he's ever so much as knocked an opponent down with, and Team Haney SHOULD have had a gameplan for it. But he couldn't keep his right glove up, and he didn't use any footwork or defensive head movement to preempt the left hook, and made zero adjustments. Ryan was the first opponent he's ever fought in his while career who was anywhere close to being his own size, and his bad habits from fighting nothing but smaller guys sure looked like they came back to bite him.

But also, screw Ryan for not being clean and being such a tool. He doesn't deserve any more fights at all if that's how he's going to be.
