I'll probably put something on Canelo by KO rounds 9 to 11... and I'm also very tempted to throw a tenner on a draw between Lara and Garcia (as I picked here... subject to change, though ).

Okay gentlemen, coupla of potential mismatches this weekend but nonetheless decided to include the three best of the Vegas card... could have maybe done Plant vs McCumby but with no title and prohibitive odds decided against it and Rolly vs Jaimes just seemed too far down the rankings.

And whilst I really should have done this sooner we now have the final winners for season 2 of the 2024 Pick Em... I had to go count back through the threads since the start of May to establish a correct pick percentage for the 2 leaders crimsonfalcon07 and Mikey G and in the end the winner was determined less by who made the most correct picks than by who made the fewest incorrect picks. Having tallied up the results it emerged that after a strong start Crimson Falcon had a total of 29 correct picks despite tailing off towards the end of the season, whereas Mikey managed a total of 28 correct picks over the quadrimester. However for whatever reason Mikey missed out on several of the seasons Pick Ems particularly in the final stages, whereas CF with true dedication picked on every single applicable fight - 46 of em in all compared to Mikey's 42. In terms of percentages however this means that Falcon had an accuracy of 29/46 or 63.0% whereas MIkey hit 28/42 for 66.7%...

So... drum roll please....

I'm sorry to be a dissenter here, but I believe the scoring should be based on the amount of correct picks made out of the total available pick ems. I don't think it should be based on the amount of correct picks made out of the total amount of pick ems that a player participated in.

We only use the percentage as a tiebreaker at the end of the season / year when two or more players have otherwise scored equally - like saying OK it was a draw but who got there most accurately and efficiently? The percentage doesn't play any other role in the game and of course under the Pick Em scoring system the more fights you pick on the more points you're likely to get. Used to use perfect picks as a secondary tiebreaker too but now that's been integrated into the scoring system
