All the divisions have Killers. Once those 147 move up to 154, they are no longer Killers. Crawford and Vergil both ended their KO streak.

The situation is what it is. My question would be to Boots. If PBC has 2 of the champions at welterweight, why not sign with PBC??? A fight with both Barrios and Stannois would be very interesting as long as they lasted. I would expect Boots to win both fights in great fashion. That elevates his name. Move to 154, who has the biggest names in that division…PBC! So why sign with Matchroom??? Doesn’t make sense. It’s no different from when Bud resigned with Top Rank when PBC had all the fighters relevant in that division. Yet, complained when he wasn’t getting the fights. I’m not familiar with the business side of things, but it’s evident that the PBC’s minimum payout to their fighters is less than Matchroom and Top Rank. So fighters chase the money. But had they signed with PBC, they would get the big fights they are looking for plus make more money on the back end of those events. Boots would have had a huge platform with PBC on Amazon Prime. It makes no sense whatsoever to me for signing with Eddie Hearns. Same with Shakur. It’s obvious something else is going on behind the scenes that fans don’t know about. Bud, Shakur, nor Boots chose to sign with them. But it’s the PBC that made Danny Garcia, Mikey Garcia, Keith Thurman, Shawn Porter, Tank Davis, and the Charlos relevant and rich!

Crawford vs Boots is probably the most lucrative compared to Crawford vs Anyone available at 154.
You are saying you are not a Boots fan, but you keep talking about Boots as if he is a relative of yours. Boots has nothing to offer at 154. The other people at 154 have belts - they provide Crawford with an opportunity to be a three division undisputed champion, which is legacy beyond anything anyone has ever accomplished. Do you not see that?

Sure, fans like us on the forum want to see Crawford vs Boots, but Crawford is 2 to 3 fights away from retirement and Boots has nothing to offer in terms of money and legacy.

Boot's best bet overall will be find some way to get one belt at 154 before Crawford collects them all, likely IBF. To do so, be willing to overpay or cut down your purse if needed. Boots at 154 with the final belt for Crawford to become three division undisputed will suddenly make him a super hot commodity for Crawford, and that match will more than make up for money lost overpaying for IBF belt in the long run.

Agree. The constant narrative, however, is that if one or two stars in a division leave then the rest of the division is garbage. That’s noob talk but even seasoned writers repeat it.

Looks like there's a possible path to undisputed for stanionis if ennis moves up. What an unlikely story that would make for with his layoffs and some top level guys that were in his division when he was a contender
