I was a big Rigo fan around the time of his fight with Donaire. However, he had plenty of opportunities to do something with his career after that, but chose to do that safety first limited offense style. He had the ability to knock guys out easy, but chose not to. Some of his fights were barely watchable, and I'm a fan of defensive stylists. His career should be a warning to Shakur. Rigo got shut out of the sport. There's a whole generation of guys who just pretended like he didn't exist, and the media went along with it. Nobody has to fight you, no matter how good you are.

As the resident expert here on this topic let me opine. First to you Mr Stevenson a.k.a. ****** Harris because first you ate Indian/Puerto Rican and then whennthe going gets tough you're miraculously black again and need the comfort of your "bruvahs". Make up your mind who you are sir. I know you're a great boxer but sometimes people don't want to see you 'parry the jab' and 'rope-a-dope' all night. Sometimes we just wanna see a muhphuqua get stretched the fuq out! With all your recent baggage you are rightly being critized for your style but you have a very good opportunity to right the wrongs and immediately clear your slate. TANK DAVIS...AL HAYMON...PBC!! GTFOOH with the race baiting nonsense. Loma compelled multiple opponents to quit to avoid the inevitable humiliation of an imminent KO. Loma was not averse to engage in exchanges. In fact he welcomed it. On the other hand. Shak hasn’t forced an opponent to quit but he compels the crowd to quit watching to avoid the humiliation of having to sit through a snooze fest in its entirety. Bring on Zepeda to show what Shak is made of. It’s going to be the Tour De France. Shak has some serious talent but he lacks pop and he lack’s a fighter’s mentality of engaging.

I disagree w Chris Byrd being a boring fighter. Now that cat didn’t avoid any fighter and he was willing to stay in the pocket and make his opponent miss and pay.

The problem with bring in Zepada" is once they do Shakur is going to do the same thing to him what he did to Oscar Valdez which is make him look like a complete BUM. Then you same guys will be screaming about he only "fights slow feet Mexicans and he doesn't fight any nay-grows"

I have always said Shakur has the goods. Real skill. But yeah he has gotten more and more defensive, and takes less and less chances. He is just boring at this point.

Loma has had multiple knockouts over the last few years. Shakur would get a pass for a few boring outings in between action fights. But he is just boring now. Nothing to do with skin color. No one is calling Bud or Mbilli or any other black fighter who is fun to watch boring.

he is a very thoughtful and introspective man, who carries himself like he would fall apart if he even got into a hard and lasting exchange with another fighter. but it really is not his fault because he is ..............wait for it ............. What’s wrong with you? Bivol is constantly moving, jabbing and actually throwing combinations. Shakur stays stationary, throws probing jabs and waits for his opponents to step into his range so he can a) either counter b) start using his feet to move back (run) and c) slip punches ONLY if he has nowhere to run. No combinations no power no any aggressiveness no excitement at all.
How dare you even compare them to each other.

I am African American and I find this dude extremely boring. It doesn't have a damn thing to do with race. It's a shame Shakur pulled out the race card when it isn't needed or relevant to him being a boring fighter. Shakur has no charisma, no power and is too defensive minded in the ring. He doesn't take enough risks in the ring. Shakur is starting to sound like a male Clarissa Shields with all of his whinning. If he were knocking guys out, then no one would be complaining about him being so boring. If he wants to see exciting, pull up fights with Sugar Ray Leonard, Tyson, Holyfield, early Mayweather Jr. Pacquaio, Hopkins, etc. Shakur reminds me of a modern day Chris Byrd who was also a stinker during his time.
