I backed Ward at 10/1, he was the largest price of any of the six.
Abraham? Wow!! Kessler is understandable lol.

I think the last one was in 2015, Fedesov won the HW tourney and John Thompson IV beat Brandon Adams from the Contender (via upset KO) in the junior middleweight tourney.

      I miss those tournaments.
Yeah they were good too. Thompson ended up fighting Liam Smith for the vacant WBO title afterwards.

Adams also lost in the first tournament final to Willie Monroe Jr too, think he got the GGG fight on the back of it as well.

Insane! So basically Abraham... Not a bad fighter for sure, but a favorite? And Froch and Ward were underdogs lol. I guess the bookies do a lot better handicapping individual fights.

I doubt it, but you never know.

I think Froch had a much better career than Kessler myself.

Kessler was the heavy favourite, expected to walk it. Until Ward dominated him.

Abraham was the distant 2nd, he had loads of hype. Especially after he knocked out Taylor.

I’m sure they were joint favourites with the bookies yanno. Both around 5/2 if my memory serves me correctly.

Managed to find an old post on a different forum of the Super Six odds if anyone’s interested. Kessler was the slight favourite, Froch was a lot shorter than I remember but it’s seemingly a British bookmakers so probably would’ve been bigger elsewhere.

The link won’t work but it’s b-oxing f-orum 24 which is starred out.

Going off memory in fairness but I remember thinking Kessler was the heavy favourite but I could be wrong.

I know it was the two of them expected to clean up with ease and fight each other in the final.

Abraham was big favourite over Froch for their fight I remember that.

I expected Froch to get destroyed. He didn’t rate him at all back then, I picked him to lose to Taylor, Dirrell, Kessler, Abraham, and Bute with ease.

Wasn’t until he beat the living hell out of Bute that I became a fan. His tjept constantly proving me wrong.
