I'm mostly focused on shelf life, though there are other elements for comparison sake. Broner had 3 straight wins after the Maidana debacle, but then lost to Porter, which is not as bad as losing to a nobody. Then another 3 straight wins and so on. So now who do you think Haney would fight next to guarantee 3 straight wins just like Broner did? Can you name such fighters?

Actually... Broner was a draw precisely because he lost his fights, and how magnificent he looked getting smacked around the ring after making such outlandish promises. People also like to see Haney lose, but not on the level of a true Heel like Broner.

In so far as both men have an appeal to our more base instincts, Broner was much better at exploiting it though I do think there is a market for those who want Ryan to finish the job with Haney... This sells fights, it was always the best thing Haney could do to sell a fight, sad as that may be.

He talks about money on fights he feels are tough. Not stay-busy fights. Even then Martin and Ortiz were not exactly walk in the park fights.
