  • Is Devin Haney just another version of Adrien Broner?

There are similarities, aren't there? Of course, there are also differences.

Question is would Haney last as much as Broner's career did after getting debunked by Maidana?

No. Broner didn’t lose to a PED cheat he gave an opportunity to after he got ktfo.

Haney doesn’t live his life like Broner did outside of the ring.

I don’t know what is going to happen down the road. Haney should be able to salvage his career.

Broner was his own worse enemy. Haney got cheated against. Huge difference.

I don't think so. Haney is a very disciplined and focused fighter. I don't think he's as talented as Broner was, but he may still prove to be a better fighter and may have a better career than Broner.

Hello no! And im not fond of either. Haney is actually committed to the game. Broner is gifted but lazy and fat.

Depends if the rumours of a loss being wiped from his record in Mexico are true

Are these type of threads indirect insults? I am trying to understand, what is the actual purpose of this question?

It is very similar to the way certain folk in boxing circles say 'Anthony Joshua is the modern day version, or this Heavyweight era's version of Frank Bruno'.

So that is a tragic insult guys? Frank Bruno only lost the World Champion boxers, and he was the WBC World Heavyweight Champion. Mike Tyson in reality was the only opponent, in Bruno's entire career who beat him quite easily in the second fight 'Even still Frank Bruno in the rematch, pretty much in my opinion gave a solid enough effort. Considering the fact that there was much controversy behind the scenes, on whether Bruno should be allowed to even have a boxing license at that time i.e Bruno was actually injured going into the rematch with Mike Tyson in 1996'.

And in terms of pure boxing, Frank Bruno fundamentally was a solid boxer 'I can tell you this? He had better boxing fundamentals and was more technically correct than Tyson Fury'.

I get it, certain folk within the boxing community 'Compare every single fighter to the absolute best fighters in the era and history of the sport'.

Devin Haney has already proven he is a top level fighter 'He has been a elite level fighter for sometime now in his career. Haney's career feats of achievements are superior to what most other boxers have achieved in the sport who are currently active'.

Now, I don't rate Devin Haney anywhere near the level of Floyd Mayweather Junior, Manny Pacquiao, or Oscar De La Hoya. In pure ability I also rate fighters such as Shane Mosley, Miguel Cotto and potentially a peak Zab Judah above him.

But this is alright guys, not every single boxers in the sport 'Needs to be the absolute best of all-time. But I am sure the non Glory Hunters in the boxing community understand this'.

Note: I have stated this on another thread, Adrien Broner currently right now as we speak? Is a greater fighter than Shakur Stevenson, and potentially Gervonta Tank Davis 'Broner's feats of achievement in his career are superior to date'.

To conclude: The thread starter needs to be clear, if you are attempting to indirectly insult Devin Haney or any other fighters 'Let people know'.

Anyone who has watched Devin Haney's careers, knows that in terms of work ethic 'Haney is a different type of fighter to Adrien Broner' etc.

I don't rate Haney all that highly but he is levels above Adrien Broner.

I'm mostly focused on shelf life, though there are other elements for comparison sake. Broner had 3 straight wins after the Maidana debacle, but then lost to Porter, which is not as bad as losing to a nobody. Then another 3 straight wins and so on. So now who do you think Haney would fight next to guarantee 3 straight wins just like Broner did? Can you name such fighters?

(Don't worry, bro, I'm a normal fan, with legit curiosity and concerns. This is not as you think it is.)

Broner is actually a draw on his own whereas you gotta beg people to watch Haney
