He was literally beaten senseless in Round 9 and it's possible or even likely that, while his body recovered enough to stop weeble-wobbling across the ring, the executive functioning portion of his brain wasn't firing on all cylinders. In other words, he got busted up bad in the head. Not a good time for anyone to rely on making the absolute best decisions, even for crafty old farts like Fury.

Boxing is about hitting and not getting hit, but I personally dislike the tactics where “not getting hit” means we get 36 minutes of two sweaty men hugging.
You know, beginning in late 93', they built an entirely new sport on that very concept.

In over five decades of watching fights, I can't remember having seen a heavyweight who looks as ugly in a boxing attire as Fury.

        Except perhaps Gabe Brown.

no he wasn’t he was outboxed….if you score round by round then leonard won….first 4 rounds quite easily , round 6,10,11 as well and 12 was razor thin which was probably a drawn round

Lol! Galen Brown? The HW journeyman? Joe Bugner wore them lame trunks that inspired Fury’s ring attire on occasion…

Not same guy. Galen Brown is white & he posted regularly on Boxrec forum years ago. Had some cool stories & was interesting to listen to. Chancy Welliver would give Gabe a run for his money. There was also those 2 german brothers (Maybe twins) who got pretty obese but still got into the ring…

My bad - I wasn't familiar with Galen Brown (in fact I edited my previous post after realizing that my reply was awkward...).

Even Butterbean was less ugly to these eyes than Fury.

Just like in the Francis Ngannou fight he tried to hug and lean on Usyk but both Francis and Usyk prevented it to happen by applying bicep technic to hold him off them. Rewatch the both fights to see what they did whenever Tipsy King wanted to lean on them. After a while he stopped trying because he was unsuccessful with it.

You have to be a great liar to be a great boxer and the biggest lies are to oneself .” I’m not hurt “,I’m in my best shape ever “,I’m not finished,I’ve got another 5 years “,etc
