Garcia ain’t going nowhere. It’s all a ploy. He’s done the crime so now he must do the time. The aggravating circumstances here are overwhelming. The fact is his admission of never attempting to make the 140 limit in the first place by weighing 3 lbs over shows a conscious intent to cheat and also when you couple that with the fact that he failed four drug tests from the same specimen. I think that a disqualification and at least a two year suspension is justified.

Ryan Garcia was never going to follow a traditional path in boxing. He's proven that his social media stardom matters as much or more than organizational belts. He remains a global superstar. If his team is smart, they will set up big money cross-over fights with guys like Connor McGregor or Jake Paul. He could well make more money during his hiatus than at any point prior.
