Povetkin would have ironed Wilder out so bad.

Surely it's pretty much accepted now that he didn't take it.

Generally fighters are getting away with things that just get picked up in tiny levels in one test. Povetkin must be the only fighter in recent years to do the opposite.

Wilder's team couldn't wait to get on a flight home. They didn't even wait for the fight to be postponed or cancelled.

While roided to the gills, probably.

You can say all you want now in hindsight, but back in Wilder's "prime", he was super dangerous. Let's just say he had a confidence that is completely out the window now and that makes all the difference. Back then, he threw his right with conviction and he had a dangerous demeaner in how he could end a fight at any moment without ever losing confidence that the right hand wouldn't land.

Looking now, at this version of Wilder, of course it's easy to say this and that, but you have to put yourself back in time to understand the mentality fighters had facing Wilder back then. Up until Fury losses, nobody had the balls to really challenge Wilder or they fought with crazy hesitation knowing 1 mistake could cost them.

If there's one thing I can't stand, is saying this and that about fighters based on their last performance which equals nothing of them in their prime. Though I guess, that's the old saying right? You're only as good as your last fight.

I'm not gonna say Wilder would have been completely ****ed against Povetkin, but it would have been one of his riskiest fights. And IF he had won, it would arguably have been his best career win.

Can't agree with Best win. Like Pulev, Povetkin was a Klitschko era leftover, and Wladdy faced him at his best.
I like Povetkin, the best Russian Heavyweight ever; but he could be hit and hurt, and in those years, Wilder was very good at doing that.
I contend that Ortiz; irrelivently old and fresh to the pros, undefeated, top ranked and streaking; was Wilder's best.
I see Ortiz, combining his accomplishments in the Amateurs & pors, being of the same caste as Parker, Ruiz, Whyte, etc.

            Just me.

I think it would have been debateable between Povetkin or Ortiz. Personally I think Ortiz would have beaten Povetkin around that time, but Povetkin was more proven.

Parker and Ruiz were heavyweight world champions, how can you ever compare Ortiz to them.

Ortiz = Whyte yeah that ones about right.

John or Andy? Both "World Champions".

Can't believe you're still going around defending the Bronze Bummer in these threads lol.

His downfall has smashed Furys resume to bits tbh. All he has is Klitschko win now

I really doubt Povetkin "didn't take it" when he failed another drug test in his very next fight for a similar drug.
