margarito was #1 for 3 years. no reason? so silly to even type that. another reason to fight marg?
Arum and Diaz say that the 'Pretty Boy' was offered in the neighborhood of $7 million to face Margarito. In what could best be described as a 'business move', the same guy who brazenly challenged the bigger Winky Wright decided to bypass Margarito, to collect nearly $4 million to spar with Sharmba Mitchell.
so he turned down the best guy and he turned down more money. money mayweather indeed! then he fought zab coming off a loss to a bum. there were no reasons to fight sharmba or zab for less money, and marg and floyd were both with top rank. easy easy fight to make. he just did not want it. instead he waited for a bum like baldomir to become champ and he cherry picked him(for less money too). even after margarito lost to williams, he came back and became #1 again so floyd could have redeemed himself by finally taking the fight...nope.
so sad to see people defend cowardice. anyone would have beaten him! sure sure cept they didnt. when a guy loses "see i knew he wasnt good" same old same old. floyd lost to castillo but margarito didnt even have a chance? absurd. it doenst matter who would have won, what matters is floyd didnt want it against the best guys of his era: marg, cotto, and pac. thats why his resume is baldomir, zab, ortiz, guerrero, berto, etc...its been proven that floyd was scared of marg. thats the only thing that has been proven

You can make an any fighter look great and championships with all the alphabet soup these days, so what? Bronner was what a three division champ? Who did margarito beat? He beat workman like fighters, I cannot even remember their names. Zab was faulty but immeasurably a better fight than Margarito.
