On one hand the IBF has spoiled more than one unification/big fight with how ironclad they enforce mandatory fights and such. On the other hand they ensure that their mandatory fighter gets a shot at the title, which is more than can be said about the other orgs.

Almost as ****** as when they stripped Opetaia for taking a stay-busy fight while his mandatory was injured.

I thought Opetaia's was a money case, the Saud's made an offer so good it was worthwhile to drop the belt.

            This was known.

Because of the two fight deal, it means the winner can't fight the mandatory obligation.

Yes & this why I care about #1 not belts, unified or undisputed. Being #1 is skill based, being undisputed is politics & business.

No cap Usyk doesn't really deserve to be an undisputed champ after getting thoroughly outclassed 7 rounds straight like that...he didn't deserve the nod at all fury was styling n profiling

                  It's a real shame.

But we've had a history of champions avoiding reasonable challengers. To that end we need the orgs to actually enforce their rules.

The IBF didn't want to let Opetaia take two consecutive non-mandatory fights. He wanted to fight Briedis on that date but Briedis wasn't ready, so he took a career high payday for a stay busy fight, got stripped, then still fought Briedis when Briedis was healthy anyway.
