Doheny's last good win was against Iwasa in 2018. Since then he has beaten no-hopers and lost to Danny Roman, Ionut Baluta, Michael Conlan, and Sam Goodman. There is absolutely no reason he should get an Inoue fight before Goodman, Akhmadaliev, Casimero, Aleem, or even a bantamweight moving up like Nakatani or Nishida.
I have a feeling that if it is not Goodman in September then it will be MJ, not Doheny. If he is believing whatever Arum says, he needs to consider that guy is notoriously known to spurt out matches and ideas that never actually is close to materializing.
