i think his defense is a bit underrated,,,look at his head movement to avoid punches, and he blocks pundhes pretty good with his right hand,,,idk,i think his defense is a bit above avg,not bad

Even worse than that is he might get seriously hurt on top of losing his championship belt.Comment

He'll crush Matias. His chin is too good and once Matias sees he can't hurt Pit Bull, it's game over.Comment

Cruz is a short (pardon the pun) term champion, he's a tough guy, who can take a shot.
That said Matias is an expert at infighting and his short power uppercuts, and hooks will get to him, before his looping shots get to Matias.
He will bust up Cruz in a way that Tank couldn't, unless he damages his hand on Cruz's head like Tank did, and Tank still beat him with one hand.
We disagree on this one BlackRobb, I hope that the fight get's made, because Cruz is a tough, no nonsense fighter who always comes to fight.
That guarantees that a fight between these two tough guys will be a classic firefight while it lasts.
Cruz has 2 losses, and a draw on his record, 1 of those losses, and the draw were to obscure fighters, he also has 2 split decision wins, and 2 majority decision wins.
Those 4 fights that I mentioned at the end could've gone against him as well, he's not that difficult to outpoint as his record show's.
Matias on the other hand has knocked out every fighter that he's faced, whether at ring center, or in the corner.
Matias has 1 loss on his record, and he sent that fight to the hospital in that fight, he sent him to the hospital again in their rematch but in even worse condition.
Matias just doesn't beat up his opponent's, he literally destroy's them, that's why other rated fighters in the division won't fight him.Comment

No time soon? What is this guy, the second coming of Mike Tyson? Lol Frankly I don’t see Cruz making too many defenses.Comment

This reads a lot to me like "we don't plan on putting Pitbull in any unification fights, and making sure that he doesn't have to face any tough mandatories until we've built enough hype for a Tank Davis rematch that we can sell to Amazon as another $90+ PPV."Comment

So you're basically saying they've been giving him soft touches? Nonsense. The guy fought Tank already who many people have tagged as the top dog at lightweight. He'll fight anybody and I don't think he's being protected at all. He went up a weight class to fight Tank, then he went up another weight class to fight Rolly.
Yuriorkis Gamboa: No one here liked this fight because Gamboa was considered way over the hill. Did you know that at that point in time Gamboa had been knocked down 15 times?
Eduardo Ramirez: I had to boxrec who he was and he was a career 126 guy who only fought once above 130 back in 2013 and finds himself going up in weight again to fight Pitbull.
Giovanni Cabrera: Had just beat Gabe Flores jr but had no notables other then that. I think this fight was just clever matchmaking to capitalize on Gio's win.
Rolando Romero: C'mon the guy sucks. Fed TBDs on his way up, got sparked by Davis, sparked in sparring, beaten up by old man Barroso, considered the weakest champ at 140.Last edited by anonymous2.0; 05-15-2024, 09:42 PM.Comment

Sure he won't lose his title anytime soon...as long as he avoids the likes of Tank, Matias, Teofimo etcComment

I think so. Here's Cruz's fights since Davis:
