Isaac Cruz, the WBA world super lightweight champion, won his title in emphatic fashion when he defeated Roly Romero in Las Vegas in March. Cruz's stock subsequently sky-rocketed, and manager Sean Gibbons said he has not seen anyone's popularity enhanced as much in a long time. Cruz makes his first defense on August 3 at the BMO Stadium in Los Angeles on a huge event co-promoted by TGB, Matchroom, Golden Boy, Warriors Boxing and Salita Boxing, and Gibbons can see Cruz stealing the show. "I guarantee, this guy [Cruz] in Los Angeles will not be able to walk anywhere," said Gibbons. "When we're in Vegas and it's a fight week, we get stopped a good amount of time, and trying to go from an elevator to a restaurant is impossible. There was almost a riot last time, people were pushing and people were shoving.

I don't see Pitbull losing his title any time soon either because GBP wants to milk him as a new Mexican star. I like Jose Valenzula, but he's not ready for this stage yet and he does NOT have an iron chin, two things GBP know full well in picking him as an opponent.

Pretty sure Pitbull is with PBC not GBP.

I do not see him losing the title because they do not even mention Matias, ignoring him will not make it go away...

I stand corrected, but I maintain my point, just replace GBP with PBC.

Maybe not, he didn't fight anyone for two years then fought a bum. Call Matias or anyon of note. He still has a lot to prove.

He is fun to watch but the blue print to beat a fighter with his style is time tested so just keep him away from certain stylistic specialists and that prediction can easily come true.

So you're basically saying they've been giving him soft touches? Nonsense. The guy fought Tank already who many people have tagged as the top dog at lightweight. He'll fight anybody and I don't think he's being protected at all. He went up a weight class to fight Tank, then he went up another weight class to fight Rolly.

I like Pitbull cause he's exciting, but he is small for 140 and can be outboxed because his fundamentals aren't elite. He could probably beat Ramirez and Prograis type fighters, but maybe not the top guys in the division.
