"Levels to the game" right? For many this WOULD be a suprise. But if one really thinks about it? Lets say you and I are in the ring, and you have the proportions of Usyk, I am the Gypsy King.... The minute we shake and start, I can use my arm reach to catch you before you can catch me... Now, I take a back foot position... You have almost half the ring to come through (distance wise) to be in range to catch me...

So to those who know it makes perfect sense for Fury to outbox Usyk. He has a tremendous advantage with respect to distance and using length. Two fighters who are similar skill wise... one guy has an extra 3 feet, what would one expect to happen?

      Neither has much inside game.

Fury obviously has the weight and will look to lean, but Usyk is likely to catch him coming in and provide angles to offset Tyson falling in.

Some people think Fury can just bulldoze forward. But those angles and counters will be a serious problem.

Fury should keep range, slow the pace and frustrate Usyk. Make it boring.

Everyone who has fought Usyk has said that his lead foot feels like it is right there immediately in front of them the whole fight.

It's not as simple as keeping range when a guy is so effective at seemingly being in range all night. Except he's not there anymore when you try to engage.

Fury wouldn't end up fighting on the back foot. He'd end up running backwards all night.

It's called having a 'boxing computer'. Like running a Pentium 3 against a Pentium 4.

Chisora had no problem with the angles and counters when he bulldozed in

You make it sound like Usyk is a pressure fighter and he's really not. He does get very physical when he can. I've actually pointed this out because people don't realize it.

And to whom do you attribute this godly quality this magic lead foot of USYK? I don't see any gigantic fighters who have a tremendous reach advantage over him that he's done this to. Joshua has some reach but Usyk did not be Joshua by being in front of him all night.

He beat Joshua by attacking at key points and becoming physical with him when he could.

You're underestimating Furys ability to use distance. Watch the Vlad fight and that should tell you everything you need to know. It's not that USYK could not get inside, or into position, it's just that it would be very difficult given furys skill set.

Actually chisora is a perfect example of when
Usyk had to contend with a guy he could not assert himself upon. If you watch Usyks fights he is a closet bully. I mean that in a good way. He tends to get physical with his opponent as soon as he can. He even did this with Joshua to a degree.

You don't do that to chisora.

Now I understand usyk had to make many adjustments after he fought chisora. But I find the notion that a fighter who totally controlled distance with Klitschko, will have usyk in front of him all night... While having reach and fighting off his back foot.

Stranger things have happened. I still think it is Fury's advantage to yield and not something that can merely be asserted.

This is true. Chisora’s dimension/size though made it easier for him to do so without creating more openings for Usyk every time he bulldozed in.

I think this is one of them fights where you just gotta simplify fighting Usyk. Kind of like what Maidana did against Floyd I — he didn’t win but he didn’t care about the technical parts and looking good, and he did well.

i think the more this turns to simplified fight the better chance fury gets. Either by using his height and reach or by making it a brawl.
