I hope Garcia tells him he can have a rematch after he rematches Loma at 135.. . He got dropped "3" times and hit the canvas 5 times. Why does that merit a rematch, but Conceicao v Navarrete doesn't?

This is the point where it becomes more challenging.
Getting beat by 2nd-3rd-tiers is more biting than getting beat by say a Matias, Lopez or even a Taylor.
Which is why a lot of fighters nowadays prefer to wait around for money fights and couldn't even take stay-busy fights.

The Martin fight won't be big money but he's a top 10 guy but not a big puncher, so ideal choice for Haney. After that he should target Teo, who seems to have issues with guys who use a lot of movement. Maybe Haney gets knocked out there but that would be the risk vs any elite puncher.

Tank, Shakur, and Teofimo, have no reason to fight him because he got washed, and he was never a draw in the 1st place! Lastly, Pitbull has a fight on August 3rd in L.A.! No Bueno!
The rematch would serve both their needs well. Also, and more importantly, there is money there. Neither of these guys is going to do well at 147. If Haney can stick and move and also stick his right hand to the side of his own head, I think he wins the rematch.

Lol these divisions are a nightmare. He has his work cut out for him, like you point out. If I was his team I would try to revamp at 147. Haney is a big kid, if he can settle down, weigh down on his shots more, learn to develop his already elite level jab... working in angles to set up shots off the jab he may get somewhere. He actually does have a decent chin, He took great shots from Garcia. I think he can put himself in play again, provided he can hurt opponents at 147.

With shady Eddie, corrupt judges and Harvey Dock Haney can beat anyone at 140

Crazy that "fans" think a loss is a nail in the coffin of a fighter's career. And we wonder why fighters shy away from true 50/50 fights. Losing is a part of life/boxing. Methinks its a little too premature to be singing Haney's obituary for losing to another talented fighter. He will be fine and will be back. Its all in HIS hands!!!!

For starters learn to punch. That grabbing is so lame. You need to keep your opponents wary of your punches. The rep of being feather fisted is now cast. Learn to punch. Otherwise fast punchers will eat your lunch.

Obvious Bill Haney planned on beating Ryan and then go for the big money but that backfired, going forward will be about matchmaking, not money.

Devin gets credit for taking less money but he does that for a reason, he offers more to smaller, older fighters and he may need to continue to get the wins he needs. As I see it, the WBC won't care and fans don't pay attention as Haney wins a few tailor made fights.

After Devin takes time off and wins a couple it will 2026 and Devin will be 27, Teo will have moved to 147, Regis and Russell will be older and both Crawford and Ennis will be gone. Haney can call up Cruz at 147 or even Matias and have a weight advantage. For now, Devin needs to take time to recover from those brain scramblers he took on Saturday.

He's too chinny, better avoid guys with power or he'll end up like Amir Khan, a highlight reel KO for up and comers
