Madrimov is a world champion at 154. Bud is getting the opportunity to fight for his belt.

So if Crawford wins, Fundora has to face him next or be stripped of a belt. But also if Crawford wins, he has to defend against Charlo next or be stripped of a different belt. Happy this fight is happening but imagine having to explain all of this political belt fuckery to somebody who just started watching the sport.

The best thing to do is say the welterweight champion is stepping up to fight the TBRB #3 in an excellent matchup.
