The writing was on the wall for ryan not making weight. He looked soft and big like 2 weeks ago, was drinking heavily on live vids, and it wasn't likely for him to cut the weight this soon.

I haven't noticed any commenters saying they actually bought this event - so is anyone actually going to pay to see this? I'll just be following the live round by round updates, I don't have $1.5 mil to burn....Comment

The only thing that can save Ryan from ruining his career is a surprise KO of Haney. Not likely, but anything is possible. If I had to bet it would be on Haney by decision or even KO.Comment

Everybody knew, everybody tried … when you have a mental problem like Ryan, no one can get to you. I have a family member that resembles Ryan a lot. We all try.Comment

I think we now see the reason why Anthony joshua left Derrick James ….james is the head trainer of Garcia and if he is happy associating himself with such a fruitcake and un-professional fighter and knew he would not make weight well that says it all….it also happened with Errol spence to a certain degree with his partying and recklessness….the blame lays with his training team by allowing Garcia to to tarnish boxingComment
-
that’s a weak excuse….a well respected boxing trainer should keep him in check and keep an eye on Garcia being ready for the fight…that’s his job and that’s what he gets paid for and if sees that fighter is not correct mentally and not training for a professional world title fight then he either walks away or contacts the commission….Garcia should have been pulled out as he has clearly not even trained for this fight.
people die in there and Garcia , james and his team promotion team all have a share of the blame

Considering he made weight in the Tank fight in flying colors, flying colors means he made weight despite the debilitating stipulations. Yeah, people need to blame the trainer/s not just the fighter. It's a team, not an individual sport.
