How much did Floyd get to fight an over the hill Pacquiao? Why shouldn’t Canelo get pay what he demands to fight Benavidez? When Floyd asked alll the mofos say well deserved champ! But when Canelo asks he is scared? GTFOOH! This is a business an a fighter should get the most of it. You guys don’t know $hh1t about boxing!Gaydrien Boner likes this.

Alvarez beat Trout for the Ring junior middleweight title...lost it in first defense.
Beat Cotto for Ring middleweight...defended against AMIR KHAN before getting gift vs Golovkin
Beat past prime Kovalev for WBC light heavy strap; never defended it
Now...he dominated Callum Smith for the Ring supermiddleweight title, respect on that and for collecting all the supermiddleweight straps...Saunders and Plant are light hitters but can fight.
But since then? Bivol dominates him, Golovkin is 40, Ryder was coming off a loss, Charlo was coming up two divisions.
Alvarez is going to the HOF but he REJECTS stiff challenges or just drops the belt.
I predict he'll never fight Benavidez or Bertabiev or even Bivol again. Especially at this weight, he's fought light hitters or older men.
His legacy may end up being his habit of picking up straps versus vulnerable champions, then not defending them versus tough challengers.
Might as well retire and wait for the HoF call; if he defends, he'll be ridiculed or beat (not a bad thing if he goes out in a classic). Because I suspect if he thought he could beat Benavidez, they'd have already fought. Alvarez is the only fighter in the sport who can fight ANYONE he chooses.

Someone should ban Reynoso from speaking anymore on Canelo's behalf. The excuses that he comes up with to not fight Benavidez is ludicrous. He never explained what the conditions are for the Canelo vs Benavidez fight. That fight wouldn't be a hard fight to make. Canelo is 33 and Benavidez is 28 I believe. Correct me if I am wrong. For Reynoso to continually make comments on his fighter's behalf about Benavidez shows that there is something up. He clearly knows that the boxing public wants to see this fight. Deep down Reynoso knows that Canelo could take a beating.
What I think should happen is that Canelo should ban Reynoso from making public statements on his behalf. Tell him to STFU. Make the fight with Benavidez or give up all of the belts. The longer Canelo waits to take his beating the more it hurts him and his legacy because Canelo is the older fighter. His skills are on a decline.

Exactly! Most fans of boxing are easily fooled by the boxing game, or don't mind the business first approach where the stars are protected, the best challenges are avoided and the so-called faces of the sport fight the best fighters at their worst.
Canelo Alvarez is a prime example of a business first fighter. He is NOT a great fighter and never will be. But most people will be fooled by the popular narrative that he is...
Canelo refused to fight GGG for a year until GGG showed signs of aging. Then he barely escaped the first fight with a draw...
He refused to fight Demetrius Andrade for the undisputed middleweight crown. He fought the worst champion, Rocky Fields, instead at 168...
He refused to fight the lineal champion Artur Beterbiev at light heavyweight. He fought an old, tired and drained Kovalev instead...
He refused to fight David Benavidez at super middleweight. He fought a bloated 154 champion Jermell Charlo instead...
Canelo is business first and only fights the best at their worst. He is good but has never had a real challenge.mjh1969 likes this.
