I desperately want Nelo v Benevidez. But maybe Nelo is waiting for Benevidez to be considered favourite against him, so he will get full credit for the win? Who knows? Why should he? Morrell doesn't have a belt. Morrell is just a name Canelo fans use as an excuse for Canelo ducking Benavidez.

The way I see it, if canelo is stripped or vacates, these two should fight for supremacy. By the way, benavidez and Morell jr are in the same boat, both mandatories and both have "regular or interim belts".

So Nell leaving fight much longer don't benefit himself really if winning the fight is important. But if getting credit for win is important, then if one day nelo is underdog I guess it does benefit nelo.
