Well its not on the Floyd ducking pac or wilder ducking Joshua level but that's also why it's so strange because Benavidez is a good fighter but he's not that great imo which makes ducking him so crazy. I understand Floyd ducking pac because he was a force he couldn't compete with or wilder du king Joshua because he would have exposed him but canelo vs Benavidez doesn't strike me as super dangerous. Maybe he really doesn’t like Benavidez and his team that he doesn’t want to give them a big payday? I don’t get it either, it’s a very winnable fight for Canelo, I mean Plant was slicing him up before he gassed and DooDoo made him look silly for 2-3 rounds. Or maybe he wants Benavidez to get a good signature win or get a belt somewhere like the interim 175 so he can have a selling point for the fight. The casuals won’t know the difference between the WBC interim and the real one. They’ll sell it as the 175 champ vs the 168 champ.

I’ve been saying it, look at Benavidez last year, the narrative was that Plant was a cherry pick and weak opposition when Canelo fought him, but when Benavidez did, it was something spectacular, or DooDoo, the complaints from Canelo was that he fought an undersized opponent coming off a long layoff, but DooDoo who was actually undersized, coming off an equally long layoff, non belt holder and 36 years old, now that was a fighter of the year type performance.

Benavidez is big, fast, strong, high volume, endless cardio, durable, skilled, aggressive, and has beat the crap out of every opponent he has ever fought including world champion level fighters, yet you still can't understand why he is super dangerous.
