What's diagraceful is Arum trashing a fighter that he's supposed to be promoting.Typical of him. Some people even have the nerve to question why Crawford sued him.

He promotes both guys, but his primary concern is the quality of the show, which Ortiz ruined. Bob's just stating his opinion. In this case his opinion happens to align with objective reality. Nobody will be surprised when Top Rank passes on renewing Ortiz' contract.

Watch it with the sound off. Ortiz won by at least three rounds. The reason Lopez was not cutting off the ring is because Ortiz was hitting him with hard fast punches when he tried. Lopez would land a partially blocked shot and Ortiz would move away.

Arum is saying this because this is the second fight where his main attraction looked bad. He knows very well that Ortiz won.

There is no rule in boxing where a guy has to stand and trade and allow the other guy to hit him. I have never liked runners and defense first guys. Ortiz will never become a draw fighting that way. But by the rules of the sport, he easily outboxed Teo and easily controlled the fight. Period. There is no arguing.

What you guys are arguing is that you want to see more action, and that since Ortiz was not there to go for the KO, but to win and control the fight, you personally were bored with it. Totally fine. I was bored. But there is no rule you have to try and KO a guy.

As the rules go, no personal feelings or judging bias, round by round....on who landed the better punches, ring generalship, points, etc, Ortiz plainly won.

Go watch Teo turn his back several times to not get hit. Watch him tell Ortiz to come on and Jamaine went in and hit him with a flurry. Ortiz embarrassed Lopez. Lopez kept smiling and mugging, swaggering around doing nothing to to cut off the ring, because he needed Ortiz toncome forward so he could react. Lopez doesn't create offense, he is a reactor.

Arum is not a professional boxer or a trainer and its not his place to tell a fighter how they should box. He signed Ortiz and his obligation is to do what he's getting paid to do which is promoting his fighter. Not publicly trashing him.
