I mean he would've dominated if they were qualifying for the Olympics track and field.

Ortiz lost 120-108 on my card. That was the most cowarice performance I have seen in over 50 years of watching boxing. By the 7th I thought the ref should have warned Ortiz to engage. By the 8th take a point and by the 9th he could have stopped the fight due to cowardice and an absolute resolve not to engage in anything even remotely resembling a boxing match. The promoter should have made him wear the gold booty shorts, heels and work in between rounds as a ring girl. They would be within their rightscto demand he do something to deserve a check. Because he didn't deserve a dime for boxing. I thought it was an old Jerry Lewis comedy skit where he runs all around the ring our of fear. I would never give Ortiz another title shot ever again.

I expect this guy to be put on the shelf for a long time now. He was complaining for years for not having enough fights, yet he didn't take advantage of the opportunity. You can cry you won all you want, but that's not what the paying audience want to see.TonyRespectful likes this.

Yes, you dominated running like a chicken w/o a neck and did nothing to try to win. Terrible performance by both fighters. You are now in the running with Shakira for most Boring Fight of the year. Cong****TonyRespectful likes this.

I had Ortiz losing this fight. I thought he utilized great movement when he was fighting Lopez. However he used too much movement in this fight and didn't throw enough punches or engage. To take the title from a champion you have dominate and beat up that person and it has to be decisive. Ortiz failed to do that. It's beautiful to see a boxer with nice movement but typically they start picking up the pace, throwing punches, looking for openings, countering when the other guy misses, etc. Ortiz was either scared to engage or just had it in his mind to run the whole fight. If Ortiz really thought he won that fight then he needs to watch it again with his trainers and fire them for giving him bad strategies.
Every boxer at some point has to stop and fight. Ortiz didn't stop and fight to get Lopez's respect.TonyRespectful likes this.

Something I've noticed, in situations like this when neither fighter did much to really deserve a win why don't more ppl call for a draw or why dont we see fights scored as draws? I think if we started seeing more draws as results rather than either rewarding a guy for running (I.e. Shakur's recent win) or gifting a fighter a win to pad their record (or title defenses) when they chase but don't know how to effectively chase by cutting off the ring (I.e. Teo in this fight) and therefore arguably was less effective than his opponent but u don't gift the guy who ran either because the point is to "HIT and not get hit" . I guess my point is imo. (As someone who can appreciate a fine defensive performance others might consider runnig) ortiz doesn't deserve the win because although he was good at avoiding Teo 's offense he didn't provide much of any himself. I don't think Teo deserved a win either because for the most part his offense was as ineffective as ortiz's absent offense. Can't give em both a loss so call it a draw, champ keeps the belt but not a win and challenger doesn't get undeserved belt but doesn't get undeserved loss.BustedKnuckles likes this.
