he's been champ, made a fortune, got a young family, heading towards 40 and clearly finished at a high level. It's time to retire.

but will he? I don't think he was ever gonna fight again so soon. But he's still a big name, so in 6 months time and Saudi come calling again because of his profile, the Saudi money will probably tempt him again.

I'd imagine in the next few years we are going see a few fighters that should be retiring and still accepting Saudi money to be stepping stones because they're huge names with not much left in the tank....

Whatever he does, for someone that walked into a boxing gym late to get money for his daughters medical condition to becoming an Olympic bronze medalist, WBC champ and now made a pile of money, fair play I say, he absolutely smashed it.
Yeah I agree with everything here.

The crazy DAZN money almost lured Wladimir Klitschko out of retirement. if the Saudi money keeps up, you're going to see a lot of guys looking to milk it for everything they can.

Wilder lost every round to a contender and now he is ducking another contender, LOL. I think not. It's just Zhang would be his ticket to the front of the line or his rocking chair in Alabama.

Is this actually true after Parker easily defeated Wilder? I would have thought that the winner of that fight vs Zhang would be preferable. Both fighters coming off big wins.

I would doubt that the Saudis would still be offering the fight to Wilder unless Parker said no.

Let's not forget he was making an average purse of $1 million before AJ and Hearn came into his life. Showtime made huge investments on him with no return. Overpaid him till they realized they'll losing more if they continue, thus passed him on to Fox Sports to stop the damage. I even doubt he would be offered the same $1 million purses fighting in the US.

Well I'm sure he will never fight in USA again anyway, and yeah, if he did it would be for far less than being been earning from the Fury fight and after.

Firstly because nobody is gonna buy a PPV now with him headlining in USA. And who is he gonna fight in USA anyway? Pretty much any heavyweight with a profile are fighting in Saudi now.

Eddie Hearn said he doesnt expect AJ to fight anywhere but Saudi now, I'm sure you can probably say the same for Usyk, Fury and the other good heavyweights. If they're putting on regular cards over there, then there's no incentive for these heavyweights to fight anywhere else.

So I'd imagine it's either retirement for Wilder, or some more Saudi fights where he becomes a gatekeeper.

he might do the latter. He already lost to Parker, so what does a few more losses matter when you're getting Saudi millions pumped into your bank account?

I'm still of the opinion that Wilder could spark Mark De Mori and fight AJ.

The term hypejob is seen as disrespectful but the counter argument is that these guys have a magnetism to them. With Wilder it is the nuclear right hand

It takes very little for someone like Wilder to kick start the hype machine even with a low quality opponent it just matters whether he could add one to the highlight reel.

Wilder doesn't look ready to face anything close to top competition right now. If he fights Zhang, his career is over. He needs a confidence building tuneup so he can relearn how to pull the trigger. And he needs a real trainer over yes-man Malik Scott. The latter isn't happening, so he at least needs a low level tuneup. Fighting Zhang now would be ****** for all. Beating a Wilder who looked as shot as he did vs Parker doesn't do anything for Zhang, who already has the title shot locked.

The Saudis wanted AJ v Wilder. They're absolutely going to use Parker's momentum and put him against another guy who looks like a top contender. Maybe Wilder can fight Wallin who looked like trash vs AJ, especially since Ruiz keeps ducking everyone.

I'm not surprised since hearing wilder took ayahuasca. He's all "i found the lord it's mind bobblin" "fighting for pvssies I got god now" "doesn't velvet feel nice and remind you of a crisp summers day" sort of energy now
