Seems these people can't create their own opportunities without relying on one man who can only fight one fighter at a time. Would have to wonder what happens to them when Canelo retires. They might as well retire also.

The same thing that happened when floyd, SRL, Duran and countless other cash cow retired, another one will emerge, actually it would be a good thing if ginger's retires, he's holding the SMW division hostage milking his status against the less dangerous opponents. By the way, he ain't fighting the real threats at his weight, charlo is a 154 pounder and yildrim is not a threat, bivol is, but he is at 175lbs, and we all know it was miscalculation.

Bellyaching about no one wanting to fight you isn't going to make anything happen. Plus he's speaking English now , put him on some podcasts , or make his own. There are a lot of ways to grow a fighters name, especially in this digital era.
Couldn’t agree more. Morrell’s team has to get him active and keep him that way. Benavidez’s first 12 opponents were a joke compared to Dave’s. That’s not a knock; the kid was being built up the traditional way. If they can’t get Morrell someone worthy, then keep the rust off and keep him exposed. The time will come soon enough.

It’s annoying, but you can’t blame them. Everybody wants to get paid.

He(pandas) wants him to fight mbilli(good scrap)but I don't think the Frenchy team would agree to fight the Cuban, or he wants direll for the name value, direll? An old and past his prime fighter that was never an elite fighter, he had a point with the name value narrative, but it is not going to prove anything. Morell jr, it is at a junction that he have to look up regardless of what the fans think he should do, ready or not.

Sure I don't disagree with you there, gotta sh^t talk these days, but they need to fight better guys too & I'd argue thats issue #1. Any legit guy would be unlikely to get a fight with a top 2 guy in the division off of a Sena level guy W. For the life of me idk why they aren't getting him in with better guys who've done more.

I think thats the best fight that could arguably be made, but I'm fine with him just moving up to ex belt guys, belt challengers or indie top ten guys. Top ten might be harder to get with all the sides of the street top guys are spread out among at 168, but there are a few ex belt guys & belt challengers under Al.

We went over this for days awhile back so I don't wanna rinse & repeat that whole thing. I just wanna see dude move up from the level of guys he's been fighting for 2yrs now.

You think beating Sena or Aidos level guys is proving something? I assure you more ppl will be talking about David M if he KO2'd Dirrell or Uzi in 2rds than Sena. Thats more of the point at this stage of his trajectory. He can beat guys no one knows for his next 5 fights & it'd do less for him than KOing a guy ppl know in his next fight. Hopefully they go that route now. Its past time to move him up so ideally him vs David B (or Alvarez) will be the big fight of 2025 at 168.

Making fights requires two parties to agree. How do we know Morrell’s team haven’t approached guys like Plant and Mbili? Caleb’s taken some wear and tear as of late. He may not be so eager to sign on to fight a monster like Morrell. A guy like Mbili, with his sexy record, may not be crazy about the prospect either. Everybody’s got Canelo dreams.

There ALWAYS is the juice worth the squeeze element to prospects who look too good for their own good. David B was in that situation himself at 168 too thats why Alvarez isn't rushing towards him still now. Boots has dealt with that at 147. David M is dealing with that as well. That said I refuse to believe Sena is the best opp they can get. Maybe all the guys you mentioned ARE avoiding him til the money makes sense idk tbh & some of them probably are, but there are still higher up guys than Sena who would probably love to get an offer to fight Morrell on TV. I do know that Mbili has got the better W thus far despite a lot of ppl not wanting to fight him either so things can't be too bleak with finding better opps.

I don't disagree with you, but it is not as easy as you think. And that's my point, we all want him to fight better competition, agbeko went the full fight with shiskin, I think you mention him before, another well regarded prospect, Morell jr just knock him out in two, I think is some value in comparing the result with another high prospect. In reality we don't know if they doing this by design or if they haven't been able to secure him a fight with a name, one thing for sure, none of the prospects nor the the top guys including canelo and benavidez has face the type of competition in their first 10 fights, that DMJ has.
