How about no. Hoping Ryder upsets the apple cart and knocks this hype job out so Canelo doesn't have a Munguía excuse to duck his mandatories. Morrell or Benavidez. Munguía isn't even a PBC fighter. Why should he be part of the PBC deal?

      Wishful thinking on Oscars part.

      1. PBC signed Canelo to a 100+ million dollar 3 fight deal. It’s dumb to think one of those 3 fights will be against a non PBC fighter. Especially when they have Benevides, Charlo, Morell, Tzyzu, Crawford and Spence under contract.

      2. Canelo ain’t doing business with Oscar. That bridge has been burned and Canelo ain’t in the welfare business.

      3. Mungia isn’t a big draw and he hasn’t done a phuckin thing to deserve this fight.

      4. Mungia might not get by Ryder.

Because Benevides has earned his shot. He just beat two opponents that are bigger names and likely better fighters than Mungia. He ain’t looking to go backward.

It's funny how guys and promoters always mention Canelo name and Canelo don't even mention these dudes and people are like, why is Canelo fighting this guy? He needs to fight so and so...

I like Jaime Munguia. He is always in crowd pleasing fights. However, he is going to stop John Ryder though. Canelo only averages throwing less than 30 punches per round while only landing single punches at a time in the process.

He doesn't throw combinations. Munguia, on the other hand has a much higher work rate and punch volume than Alvarez. He is a lot younger, stronger, youthful and more energetic than Ginger too.

I mean it is easy work and a good payday for Canelo. I like Munguia way more than most on here and even I can see this is a fun day at the office for Canelo's skill set. So I could see it. Besides, Canelo would love to embarrass De La Hoya by destroying his latest "superstar in the making" inside the distance.

Canelo and Benavidez already have a handshake agreement for September 2024.I guess Canelo wants the choice of making another BIG bag before Benavidez! Crawford would fit the bill! I just hope it's not Jermall Charlo!!!

Possibly yes but also experience too. Canelo is not the same fighter he was seven or eight years ago. Age is finally beginning to catch up to him.
