Crawford is just looking for the biggest paychecks because he'll turn 37 next year. I don't blame him, but let's call a spade a spade, if Canelo is ducking Benavidez, then Crawford is ducking Ennis.
Crawford is ducking Ennis, a B level fighter who brings nothing to the table moneywise, and who turned him down pre Spence....

In order to fight Canelo, three weight classes above him, p4p top 10, to make a 100 million?

You call that a duck? Lol. That would be like Canelo saying nah, I'm going to go up and fight Biev, a p4p guy, instead of Benevidez. I'd love to see Canelo fight Benavidez, but I'd give Canelo huge props for doing that. That would be actually chasing greatness.

Ennis may or may not have turned down Bud before, but he wants to fight him now, that's what matters.

      Ennis, a B-level fighter? I don't think so.

Exactly, "three weight-classes above him"... that's a circus fight. It's a duck because Crawford has nothing to lose against Canelo, the weight difference is a built-in excuse.

If Crawford moves up and fight Tszyu, a good and bigger fighter in his prime, that would be chasing greatness as well. Canelo or Spence again is just chasing paychecks.

I agree. But I can also understand Bud trying to maximize, what, two or three more fights, at the most, for the biggest $$$ he can chase. That would be Canelo but everyone wants a payday against Canelo. Hell, I'm over 60 but I'll go back in training for a shot at Saul. To me, Jermell made the most sense since it is a two belt championship fight and another division under Crawford's belt. Tszyu would certainly be a challenge and another division belt but I'm not sure how much money can be generated by that tango.

I'm hoping that Crawford mandates any Spence fight at 147 lbs. so Spence can back down and Bud can chase other fights. There won't be much cleanup in the welterweight division after Bud leaves. Spence won't risk a fight with Ennis but I don't think Errol really wants to fight at 147 lbs. at all. Vergil Ortiz Jr.? That might be a money fight but the rest of the division is ho-hum. Ennis gets the short straw here, financial wise, but that's boxing. I know he's looking for a big payday as well.

And how much do you expect Crawford to demand in this fight? And which platform would want to put their money into this? BLK was the only platform willing to waste money on it, yet it was rejected by the Ennis camp.

So okay, Crawford says yes, what's next? Would PBC do it? Ennis is not even signed with them. Showtime is gone. Show me how this fight would get made.

No, I'm of this ridiculous narrative Crawford is ducking him.

Crawford has always been about the business of boxing and it is no different now. If he can he should look for another big fight since he is a recognizable star now. I would definitely watch if he fights Boots but I understand his point at this point of his career. Necessarily I don't like it but it is what it is.

What do you think happens to Boots without SHO, and not being signed to PBC?
Boots will be fine. Showtime was one platform of many. It'll continue without them just fine. Especially if Haymon signs with Amazon Prime (which we think is a mistake).

                    I would also remind folks:

Subriel Matias happily went in there and destroyed his mandatory.

He didn't stop to call out Crawford or whatever for a cashout. He continues with his duties as champion in his current division while working towards bigger fights that would still be title defenses.

That's what we respeck. Not a guy who calls out people in every OTHER weight class except his own while sitting on belts not defending them.

That's what needs to be answered. It's mere fantasy fight.
