hes a good fighter but when he tried to cash that cheque, it bounced

to be fair i was pretty shocked when he took the benny fight, he went from one end of the scale to the other, taking on a dangerous guy who is fighting well, a lot of top guys avoid that type of guy, boo boo didnt in this case and deserves a lot of credit for going for it i would say, the canelo fight was the carrot possibly that got his ass in gear

        Failed his 1st real test.

It just validates that alot of us know what we're watching, he leveraged his unbeaten record and looked better than he is by the level of opposition he fought. You could see flashes of it in fights against his overmatched opponents.

He's had plenty of opportunities over the years to fight better competition and turned them down. He would've been in a much better position if he took the fights earlier on, assuming he won of course, instead of sitting around because some of the bigger names chose not to fight him. He's unfortunately a victim of his own doing. Who knows how things would've turned out at 154 and 160 but it doesn't look good when your first major step up ends this way.

he seemed like a good talented fighter but thats the problem with having a crap resume, if you do lose your first big fight you dont have much to fall back on. he's beaten 3 top 10 fighters ranked 6, 8, and 9. basically tank davis' resume but some people have tank as one of the best in boxing lol, why not andrade? hype thats why. tank wont make the same mistake as andrade did though, he would never challenge a top guy and so the hype goes on

Andrade is a pure boxer at his 3rd weight class....going up against a big pressure fighter campaigning at his first weight. Andrade had stoppages at 154 and 160, but I wouldn't classify him as a big puncher. His first performance at 168 against Nicholson didn't exactly inspire confidence either. Andrade wanted a big fight and didn't try to acclimate to the weight. Andrade was desperate, and Team Benavidez simply took advantage. Andrade allowed himself to be a stepping stone, a sacrifice....nothing more. He's just another highlight reel performance for Benavidez.

It's an overreaction to a boxer disappointing us and not living up to lofty expectations. As pure boxers age, their speed/agility decreases and they become sitting ducks for pressure fighters. Benavidez did his job very well: he battered Andrade's body to make him stationary, then ripped combos to the head/body. It was a textbook beating.
Responding to give gratitude for your well reasoned posts amongst a sea of reactionary ignorance one encounters in the aftermath of a big fight.

and he just come up against against a huge super middleweight in benavidez who was way too good for him but andrade is still a very decent fighter and if he continues fighting can still be in some entertaining fights
Agreed, Boo Boo is a good fighter but it's like Andrade himself said, this is his 3rd weight class and only his 2nd fight at that weight. Most people think moving up in weight is easy to do or not a big deal but in actuality it's extremely difficult to accomplish.

Except according to Conte, Andrade hydrated to 190.

You don't get to rehydrate 22lbs and then claim you were too small.
