I don't claim to know the details of this situation... particularly seeing the reaction of various posters here. I guess Breads column predisposes me... The little I have seen of boots indicates he has immense talent and Bread says as much.
I would love it if this opportunity makes others willing to challenge Boots. I do not think Boots wants to rest on his laurels.Comment

Boots was made a paper champion because Bud who is under contract with Spence couldn’t negotiate a fight with Boots as a defense for his next fight. Bud has to see what Spence is going to do. Spence would sue him like Wilder did Fury. Bud still had 6 months to defend his title against anyone under the IBF because he wasn’t ranked by the IBF when he fought Spence. Had Bud been ranked under the IBF he would’ve had 9 months to defend. But because Bud could t negotiate with Boots, they stripped Bud and made him a paper champion. Let’s go champ!!!Comment
