  • Comments Thread For: Hearn: Wilder Fight Realistically Is Not Going to Happen Until March or April

Promoter Eddie Hearn maintains that Anthony Joshua will likely have two fights in the next six months or so. In a recent interview, the Matchroom head suggested that the former heavyweight titlist from London could return to the ring by December or January against an unnamed opponent.

What headline doesn’t tell you is he’s referring to March/April 2033.

I think Hearn should Not talk about or answer any more questions about a AJ/Wilder future fight until there's an official contract confirmed......

So the rumours of Joshua/Kabayel in December could actually be true. Read yesterday that Kabayal is the leading candidate & if it falls thru then kabayel will fight Tony Yoka. Right on Hearn you twatwaffle. What happened to it will be signed in a few days? Well if the Kabayel fight happens at least Joshua was active in 2023 with 3 fights like he wanted. He will have had a nice rebuilding year where he got several fights & training camps in with his current trainer. Wilder is likely sitting out the year.

Joshua needs to move on. There are still big fights for him if he wants them.

Whereas Wilder is looking semi retired. He's 4 years older than Joshua, had 1 win in 4 years and has fought just one round in 2 years.

I understand Joshua wanting the statement win, but it's career or money at this point. He doesn't really need either, but needs to make a choice... One, the other, or neither.

People are complaining, but? If Joshua does not fight Wilder, what do you think he is going to do?

The ultimate goal of Joshua is to fight for a World title again 'Those are Joshua's intentions'.

Nobody know's Wilder's overall intentions. For me it does look like Wilder is behaving in a similar fashion to Derek Chisora.

If Joshua is to fight for a world title again, he will have to at some point sign to fight in a big fight 'And win that fight'.

Who that fight will be against?.Could be any of the other top Heavyweights.

Note: Everyone in the boxing World knows Joshua's intentions, how he gets there? Well that is up to his team. Joshua cannot force a fight vs a fighter in Wilder who from what I can see is not really being clear or 100% proactive when faced with the opportunity of making any big fight 'Wilder vs Ruiz Junior, and Wilder vs Joshua'.

I rate Deontay Wilder extremely highly as a fighter within this heavyweight era, but I believe both Wilder & Fury have been too high off their trilogy since it happened 'Fury has been basking in the glory of beating Wilder, and Wilder has been basking in the glory of pushing Fury to the brink'.

And a narrative has been created from this, that no other fighters can really challenge them 'But what other fighters is Wilder genuinely gaming to fight? I have theorized that both Fury and Wilder could of potentially acted like a smoke screen for each other, nobody really knows their obsolete true form against other top Heavyweights since their passionate trilogy' etc.

Maybe Wilder's team could have a go at making the fight?
