Very true. They made a huge mess in the first negotiations.
Even Showtime Espinoza stopped covering Deontay's fights and passed them on to Fox, which closed shop eventually.
Good old Stephen got sick of overpaying Wilder with no return in his investments.

Wilder is American. A bronze medal Olympic champ. He’s a cash cow and drops bombs on fools

Wikder turned down and undisputed fight with AJ and his richest payday to fight Fury instead. AJ vs Hrg is for a title. I dont see the problem. Aj/wilder is was past its sell date.

Wilder ducked AJ for years. Of AJ, Fury, and Wilder, AJ is the only one who actually tried to fight top competition, which is why his resume is so much better than the other two. They did have a confirmation that the fight was all but made from Skills Challenge, but they lost their control over the Saudi sport purse strings to GEA. That's why those fights fell through. It's not like AJ is in charge of who controls the Saudi money, so it's ****** to blame him.

Can't blame him for going for the opportunity to get a belt again, especially considering it's only happening because of a rematch clause. I happen to remember that Fury threw several tantrums about that exact thing. I suspect it will only be an issue if Usyk wins, or if it specifies an immediate rematch. Usyk wants undisputed. If he loses, having an immediate rematch with Fury wouldn't be for undisputed any more, so he might take a step-aside to let Fury beat Hrgovic. Fury will probably retire or play games saying that he's not required to honor the rematch at that point, and then we'll have a year or two of legal stuff before the rematch happens, if it ever does. Either way, it's not an unreasonable choice for AJ to make, since they don't seem to be getting any traction with getting the Wilder fight made.

AJ and Wilder at this point are already both washed up and severely damaged goods. They could easily **** up and lose again in much lesser fights than AJ/Wilder would be too. Its a shame we are still doing this **** in 2023, what a massive fight this could have been if it had been made some time between AJ/Wlad and Fury/Wilder 1. Bet it would have done close to 4 million buys globally at its peak, now maybe a bit over half that.

He made $2 mil in the Luis Ortiz 1, his highest purse. Whyte, backed by Hearn, offered him $4 mil, Deontay wanted $7 mil for an easy fight. He then was offered $12 mil for the AJ fight, went up to $16, was sent the contract, Wilder's team made all kinds of excuses known to man and refused to sign. Hearn even had to send his dad to talk to that effeminate manager of DW, pat his shoulder, telling him everything will be okay.
It's true, everyone knows Wilder was moved carefully. Yes, he has a monster right hand, but that's about it. Klitschko reportedly hurt him badly during sparring, so no way would he fight him. He claimed Whyte was beneath him and refused to sign a $100 million deal with Hearn to fight AJ. He first claimed a lack of transparency by Hearn, then an undying loyalty to PBC and Haymon. I'm a little surprised that he won't fight AJ now that he's seen his vulnerability. Maybe neither fighter wants to take the risk, because they are both near the end of their careers and want a giant, final payday.

AJ is about to have his 3rd fight for the year, and Wilder hasn't fought in one year. So it's not hard for me to figure out who is quacking.

A.J. has a very good chance to beat Hrgovic; stylisticly a good match up for him.

A.J. has NO CHANCE to survive 6 rounds against Wilder and he never did. NEVER.

Set to cash his fighter out in exchange for ridiculous Saudi money, Hearn saw a way to juice the marketability and bounce after Wilder crushed Joshua. With that money apparently pulled back, a plastic title defended against some beatable IBF contenders like Sanchez, Parker, Kean, Anderson, Wallin, Ortiz, Ruiz Jr. Is the next best option.

Won't do too awful much to repair the legacy, but it beats lying in a heap at Wilder's feet.

So hard for me to root for fighters that are not active. Heck, what are we here for as fans anyways? I never understand why fighters who choose to be active are not given any credit in this damn sport. Why is Wilder not fighting?

All of these fans claiming these "Ducks" by various fighters always forget to post their source links.

It doesn't take much to see through the BS.

Wilder would have nothing to fear from the the likes of Joshua, Usyk, Whyte, etc.
