Good for Bivol! I'm sure he's happy! His legacy is secured, by beating Canelo @ 175! He's 32 years old with 21 fights! I guesss he can retire now!

Not retire, but close the Cinnabon chapter of his career. He has stated that undisputed is his goal, but the politics of promotional companies and the WBC are preventing the fight, so maybe cruiserweight is the best option until then. Regardless, he's accomplished plenty in those 21 fights, including beating the so-called face of boxing easily, someone that thought he would be a walkover.

Some here need to start using their logic and common sense, who the hell is going to pay Bivol what he made against the ginger? Why not taking same terms for an easy night work? Itd clear that the russian team wanted more money along with canelos belts its obvious cinnabon would give them the middle finger as their fight was at 175 not 168 and the mexican has other options unlike the russian. Canelo moved on and now has a lucrative fight deal....and Bivol? No beterbiev fight and not even a scheduled opponent . Who made the smartest decision after all?

This is correct Bivol is the one who loses out significantly in this case.

Canelo has multitude of paths and promoters literally throwing themselves at his feet to sign him up.

Bivol had one path really dumb could of played on Canelo pride and ego and even got a trilogy out of it.

What did he lose? He’s making the same money, was already a hall of famer, all time great, and one of the best Mexican fighters ever.

I guess Bivol is different? Charlo won Undisputed @ 154, but he still wants smoke! Crawford won Undisputed at 140, and 147, and he still wants smoke! Canelo is a 4-Division Champion, Undisputed at 168, still fighting GREAT fighters! So if Bivol is happy with his win over Canelo, I'm happy for him!

Bivol beat Canelo @ 175! OMG, Canelo must be a fraud! Lol! Canelo is going to fight Charlo @ 168! He's going to make a ton of money, fighting guys coming up to fight him! Everybody is up in arms, but Canelo went from 154, to 168, and to 175! Meanwhile Bivol gets all the praise, and he's never fought anywhere but 175! Why is no one demanding Bivol move up and take scalps? Canelo took the risks, and made all the dough, as it should be!

I'm pretty sure the majority of his fans, and the majority of the planet will respect that Canelo was a 4-Division Champion, with 12 lineal Championship wins! They will also remember that he carried the mantle of "The Face of Boxing" after Mayweather & Pacquiao departed the sport, and carried that torch for damn there a decade! Why do you think Benavidez, Charlo, and Crawford want to fight him? I guess I can be wrong?

Canelo wouldn't be the face of boxing if he came from Mongolia would he? He is a fair skinned Mexican with ginger hair and as such has a whole demographic automatically gravitating towards him. At least Mayweather and Manny achieved their status' through boxing skills alone.

Yeah, its VERY different at light heavyweight, because the only division that he can truly jump to is cruiserweight, which isn't a popular weight class. With the size of most heavyweight fighters today, that's not a possibility. So yeah, its quite different from jumping five to eight pounds between each division to claim titles and accolades, and become a 4 division champion within 21 pounds of weight, QUITE different.

Clenbuterol is just what he got convicted for you silly cretin! You'd have to be ridiculously naïve to believe Canelo hasn't used steroids or other substances at numerous points throughout his career ESPECIALLY given the fact that numerous other fighters from Reynoso's stable have also found out to be cheaters. Bob Arum and Eddie Hearn (before promoting Canelo) both commented on his physique and the high probability he was on drugs.

Beterbiev hasn't done anything since turning pro... lol I've heard it all now - the guy holds 3 of the 175lbs titles and has 19 KO's from 19 fights, he would've put Canelo in a casket. As for Bivol, he didn't get out of 2nd gear while SCHOOLING old ginger boy

Its customary to try to unify a division before defending the undisputed title in your own weight class to the top contenders and THEN moving up. Canelo is doing neither. He avoided undisputed at 160 to duck Jermall and fight old washed up alcoholic Kovalev. Then we see him making title defences to the likes of Yildrim and Ryder when he should be fighting Benavidez (he won't fight another Mexican though). He goes up to 175lbs (having already won a title there) and gets whooped by Bivol but claims its not his weight?? Finally now at PBC with Jermall out, instead of choosing to fight the natural 168lbs fighter in Benavidez he drags up Jermell by 2 divisions...

So to summarise, Canelo isn't going up and down the divisions daring to be great he is simply doing so to avoid certain fighters while targeting those he perceives as low lying fruit. This was proven when Bivol offered to make concessions in weight by coming down to 168lbs - giving Canelo the advantage, but obviously he knew it was a repeat result but this time a higher probability of himself getting stopped.
