Because the 12th round wasn't a wash like people say it was. It's recency bias. Lopez got beat up badly and wobbled in 10th and 11th rounds, with announcers saying something like "Loma is going for the kill" (paraphrasing - I can find the clip later if needed). Lopez coming out with a lot more energy was surprising for everyone, and he looked better than he did in comparison to the previous 5. Doesn't mean he dominated the 12th round. The avanced punch stats do not show domination by Lopez, link below in 3rd pic, round 12 punches:

In no shape am I saying Loma should have won, and I don't have an issue with the decision. A draw would have also been fine, but Loma gave away the first 6 rounds for whatever idiotic reason, and made it very hard on himself to get it.

The reason I'm highlighting this fight is to contrast against Joshua's. Loma gave away the first 6 rounds to Lopez before looking dominant. Maybe it's due to Lopez' pressure, or because some weird miscalculation by Loma. Fact is neither fighter looked impressive in 6 rounds. It was a stinker. Loma landed ~4 punches per round, while Lopez landed 8.

AJ's losses were pretty one sided besides his KD of Ruiz early.

And I'm not saying this as a hater or a huge fan of either guy. I like both fighters very much.

Obviously Loma is a vastly superior technical boxer and had a superior ammy career also.

I do give AJ plenty of credit though. I think he gets shat on too hard sometimes.

AJ has turned into a bit of a comical figure, i dont think ive laughed that much after the usyk 2 fight for a long time with his antics, he also got beaten by a cruiser guy coming up which is not a great look either

Wladimir Kiltschko vs Anthony Joshua was the greatest Heavyweight title fight of the past 25 years 'The fight happened 17 months after Fury beat Kiltschko. Kiltschko a Champion for close to 10 years was unfortunately denied a rematch vs Fury. So after Kiltschko enduring 3 back to back training camps due to Fury multiple times pulling out of their rematch, it was Anthony Joshua who beat and knocked out Wladimir Kiltschko.

If people are honest Joshua's win over Kiltschko was a more conclusive win than Fury's, it was Joshua who dismantled the Kiltschko reign conclusively 'Fury win may be greater in terms of historical magnitude, but Joshua was the fighter who without doubt dismantled the Kiltschko reign and threat completely'.

Joshua did what he had to do as a Champion, and took on all comers 'He also fought Usyk twice back to back, when many people advised him not to'. Joshua overall as a fighter is a competitor, and from my observation is determined to challenge himself and make top fights.

Note: I believe the disrespect is due to the top fighters at Heavyweight having more individual fans, who are passionate about their fighter 'And the Heavyweight division is the ultimate division'. The disrespect is also personal with some people, they do not like Joshua personally so they will look for a reason to promote narratives.

Lomachenko is a great fighter, and to be honest? I would rate him as a greater fighter than Anthony Joshua on his whole career to date 'Two Olympic titles, and he has also reigned as a Champion in the professional ranks'.

But Joshua is still in the competition which will decide the greatest Heavyweight fighter of his era, Joshua is still one of the top-4 Heavyweights all fighting in the latter part of their careers 'Lomachenko seems to be out of the competition, he was beaten by Lopez, Haney and has not rematch any of those fighters' etc.

Hearn had his PR machine working overtime and made Joshua fans believe that he was some ATG, they even had a pic of Joshua in the same pose as Ali in one the papers. Lennox was just jealous for daring to criticize the great Joshua lol. The hype around Joshua was bonkers, he was so flawed that anyone who wasn't bamboozled by Hearn could easily see it. His melt down after his second loss to Usyk was hilarious.

Interesting way of saying Klitschko was 41, inactive and coming off a loss.

Respect from Boxing fans is a funny thing which is hard to really measure.

Boxing bords like this one are like survey sites. The majority of people whi are interested in posting are there to berate and complain.

But Joshua has made hella mo money
                    Hella Mo.

I love this narrative that Loma ducked Haney. He fought a unification for undisputed with the IBF champ Lopez instead, FFS. By that logic, Usyk should fight Hrgovic instead of Fury, because it's more important to fight your mandatory than it is to unify the division.
