Why we should WATCH Fury vs. Ngannou while waiting for Fury to unify.

Fury is soft really, all the gypsy street fighter **** is just an act. If he had balls and was a true fighting man he'd be fighting top contenders in his own sport or fighting Ngannou in MMA.
Jones could quite literally kill Fury inside of 30 seconds. See the Gane fight as the blueprint. That ends in death if theres no ref and Jones doesnt feel like letting go.
Baddest man on the planet is the no1 HW or occasionally LHW MMA fighter. Its not even close. Even outside of that HW kickboxers and olympic wrestlers would beat HW boxers more often than not in an open rules fight.Last edited by TMLT87; 09-11-2023, 11:06 AM.

Look what happened to Conor McTapper when he fought a real world class combat athlete. Floyd was 20lbs lighter, 20 years older, didn't even bother training for the UFC bum and still schooled him without breaking sweat.
UFC fanboys thought Rousey would beat Mike Tyson in a street fight. She ended up getting flattened by a couple of 140lb girls!

The money argument is always oversimplified. The UFC is ****ing 30 years old, theres no Ali act and one promotion is by far bigger than the others. Also the massive money in boxing is at the absolute sub 1% level, theres probably a higher ratio of MMAs talent pool making a decent living. For one the UFC has over 1000 athletes on its roster, i'm not sure Top Rank, PBC, Matchroom, Golden Boy, Queensberry and Boxxer have half that many people signed combined. Then theres the factor that its the highest paid combat sport outside of boxing but is also MIXED MARTIAL ARTS meaning you can transition into it, so basically any combat sports athlete that isnt a boxer at their core (ie wrestlers, BJJ, kickboxers, muay thai etc) has an incentive to go there.
The Conor/Floyd fight was more embarrassing for Floyd if anything. An 0-0 boxer lasting 10 rounds against a guy who was still p4p level 2 years earlier, never touching the canvas once, outlanding Floyd in the first 3 rounds and eventually being stopped against the ropes because he was gassed. If a boxer goes into MMA how its generally gonna play out is like 10% chance they land a Hail Mary, 90% chance they get taken down and stopped in the first round. Its not likely any 0-0 in MMA boxer is gonna be lasting until late rounds and even winning a few.
As for the Rousey thing, how many people actually believed that? it was a fringe opinion that most people have always considered ridiculous whether they're MMA fans or not.

You say that Fury is not "Fighting top contenders"?
I think your demands might be a little askew.
That's just me, of course. Not everyone.
Just me.
But I've gotta ask, and I appreciate your patience....
Who are these top contenders who Tyson Fury has decided to overlook?
The ones who are SO COMPELLING that his oversight of them has undone all the work and deeds mentioned above.
Help me find them.
Here's a good pick list to assist you:
World Champion -
Tyson Fury. Won title 11/28/2015
1. Oleksandr Usyk
2. Deontay Wilder
2. Deontay Wilder
2. Deontay Wilder
3. Zhilei Zhang
4. Anthony Joshua
5. Andy Ruiz
6. Joe Joyce
7. Luis Ortiz
8. Daniel Dubois
9. Dillian Whyte
10.Martin Bakole
11.Filip Hrgovic
12.Derek Chisora
12.Derek Chisora
12.Derek Chisora
13.Joseph Parker
14. Michael Hunter
15.Frank Sanchez
16.Murat Gassiev
17.Arslanbek Makhmudov
18.Jarred Anderson
19.Kubrat Pulev
20.Efe Ajagba
21.Otto Wallin
22.Carlos Takam
23.Agit Kabayel
24.Robert Helenius
25.Tony Yoka
I've placed in bold those who Fury’s fought already. I've duplicated anyone who he's fought more than once.
I don't see his reign as being as thorough as several other legendary heavyweight champions in cleaning out the division (such as Klitschko, whom he easily beat), but he's still active, and fighting next month.
I see that Zhang and Joyce are both tied up at the moment.
Joshua and Ruiz where presented with offers and will be again.
Ortiz had his two shots against Wilder and was twiced knocked out.
We're.........we're not talking about......about Oleksandr Usyk, are we????
ARE WE???????
The last time I saw that paper lion, he was groveling at the feet of Daniel Dubois for three whole minutes, the first prime Heavyweight he'd ever faced.
I don't imagine you'd be willing to accord Daniel Dubois any more respect than you do the Heavyweight Champion of the World, Tyson Fury; would you?
And why would he be wanting to "fight Ngannou in MMA"???????
There's no money in that, and no glory either.
Everybody remembers Mike Tyson Evander Holyfield, George Foreman.
Who remembers Marco Ruas, Mark Coleman or Ricco Rodriguez??? Who?
No glory. No money.
This is why the UFC Champ is begging at Tyson Fury's doorstep.
Don't ask me about that, ask Ngannou.
The Idea that Boxing, Wrestling, Kickboxing are "Just Sports" and MMA is something beyond that is promotional hyperbole- Period.
You Fan Boy.
All you need for MMA is 25% Boxing, 25% Freestyle/Greco-Roman/Judo, 25% BJJ/Submission grappling, 25% Muay Thai/FC Karate/Kickboxing, a funny haircut and a belly full of jizum from all that man-to-man rolling practice.
What's in that for the boxing champion?
That's like asking a top firm law partner to quit and be the janitor!!!!!!
With no Eye gouging and Biting and Fish hooking, MMA is nothing but a place where grapplers with wild swings can get it on without having to fear those attacks, the first thing they'd encounter in a real fight in response to that close quarters, fruitcake approach to unarmed combat.
MMGay was Invented as a new sport alternative to Boxing, so that the promotion can get away with paying the fighters cab fare.
Money talks and Bull**** walks.
Oh, wait.......Am I trolling now?
Well that makes us even.Last edited by Willow The Wisp; 09-11-2023, 02:46 PM.

Not my type of fight. It is meaningless and I am not interested in putting money in Fury's pocket for a fight I am not interested in.
If it bring more casuals to the sport it is a victory but not my cup of tea. Even when Pac fought Rios, Matthysse, etc I wouldn't pay for those either.crimsonfalcon07 likes this.

"He (48 year old pure Boxer Ray Mercer) doesn't want to come into My world!"
- 2-Time UFC Heavyweight Champion Tim Sylvia prior to being Knocked Cold in 9 seconds by a professional grade punch, found only in the Big Pay leagues, courtesy of the retired, overweight, 48 year old, Hep-C positive "Merciless" Ray Mercer, in Mercer's one MMA fight.
