In fact there actually were, all set by Ali's side:
      1) No attacks allowed when any part of their bodies are touching the rope.
      2) No attacks allowed with the elbow or the head.
      3) No kicks allowed while standing.

Keep in mind these were the restrictions set by Ali against a guy who was most known for a knockout high kicks and powerful tackles that slams the opponent into the ropes. Essentially they said that the only attacks allowed were punching, grabbing just using hands only while standing still near the middle of the ring, and kicking while on the ground. As a result, you got an Ali staying upright trying to punch a guy who was on the ground kicking. Playing devil's advocate you could even say that Ali was too scared to risk reaching down low enough to hit Inoki with a punch because his ground kicks hurt so much and he had no intention of getting his upper body within his kick range.

Ali is no doubt the greatest HW boxer of all time, but you can't deny he was quite...”careful” with his own rules set when fighting a heavy kicking wrestler. If not for Ali's rules then Inoki would've atleast attempted some high jump kicks or body slams, even with the risk of getting countered.

Why would Fury be better at poking people in the eyes than fighters in a sport where people repeatedly get poked in the eyes with fingerless gloves and guys like Jon Jones do it intentionally?

Also, no just no, Fury like any boxer, would be in a horrific position against an MMA fighter of comparable size/level/age on the street or in any situation where the other guy can use their full skillset. Not saying he wouldnt have a punchers chance just like in MMA but all the hypothetical eye pokes, hair pulls, groin shots, biting etc (that for some reason in these imaginary scenarios only the boxer can do) are just coping mechanism for not wanting to accept that boxers arent really the best "fighters".

This fight means nothing in regards to telling who the baddest man on the planet is. Fury is a **ssy.

Yes, Alis people had a long list of demands for what Inoki was allowed to do, to an extent that that was pretty much the only offence he could mount other than straight up boxing. What, did you think that was his go to strategy? he also still managed to hospitalise Ali with the weird **** he was doing and basically shut down Alis boxing game as well.

Bear in mind Inoki was pro (ie fake WWE style) wrestler but with some legitimate skills also. By the standards of an actual high level wrestler or a modern UFC grappler it would be like comparing some 1800s bare knuckle boxer to Crawford. And even then if he'd been allowed to use his full range of skills he probably would have beaten arguably the best HW boxer of all time.

Lol how he defaulted to the "bu..bu.. MMgay" "dry humping" etc argument, forgetting that the supposed best HW boxer on the planet is obsessed with black mens penises. Its not even the first time Fury has done it either, he did the same thing over AJ years ago "I bet hes got a big willy, I wish I had one like that". Ladies and gentleman, the baddest man on the planet....

                    Why not?
Don't watch it if you're not interested..

At it's worse, it will bring fans over from MMA so will make our sport stronger.

Win win for us all apart from the odball fans that we currently have in boxing.

Cross over fans are what the sport needs. People that won't turn on a fighter once he loses. Many sporting teams/players looses but the fans keep supporting them. Boxing needs the same.

Also figheters need to fight more to support this.
                    That's all I'm saying.
                    that's IT!

                    It's fun and interesting.
Not life & death (we hope, anyway).

Some here, however, have stated in effect, and with serious enthusiasm:

                    1. MMA is "Real Fighting", and they prefer it to "limited Boxing".

                    2. They refuse to watch UFC champ Francis Ngannou fight if he's not allowed to shoot, throw, kick, knee, elbow, choke, hyperextend joints; but only Box.

                    Hmmmmmmm.
No interest watching the MMA champ fight.... UNLESS the MMA champ will be butt grabbing and girly kicking.

                    Pretty Gayyyyyyyyyy.
(But not admitting it, like the guy being lead out of the highway rest stop mens room in handcuffs yelling "But I'm married!"!!).

What are they doing trying to talk boxing on a boxing board??

Its almost like some people enjoy more than one combat sport.
