Cherry picker or no cherry picker, Canelo is a convicted drugs cheat. That's the important detail here.

Analog is just like Floyd, he has cherry picked opponents that either are over the hill or have to cut so much weight they are drained. .

Benavidez isn't his current mandatory. Morrell is. Saunders was a two division WBO champion with multiple defenses. Fielding is the same as Mario Barrios for Tank Davis. Alvarez was going up in weight for the first time for that one, after GGG 2.
Sulaiman points out that Benavidez (27-0, 23 KOs) recently beat Caleb Plant last March, and the WBC will not order Canelo to defend against him for another ten months from now. This means Canelo will have had two years of sanctuary, protected from Benavidez since the ‘Mexican Monster’ became his mandatory.
Benavidez has been the WBC mandatory & interim 168-lb champion for two years since his third-round knockout of David Lemieux in May 2021.

I'm not saying I don't want to see the Benavidez fight (I actually think Canelo beats him), but he became a hall of famer ages ago and precisely the point in bold...there will ALWAYS be THE NEXT guy.
I always bring up Mayweather as an example. If Mayweather had retired with the same amount of fights with the same type of opponents, but instead of 50-0 let's say he would've been 47-2-1, losses coming to Castillo, Oscar, and a draw against Maidana in the first, he wouldn't have been as much of a polarizing figure as he currently is...and made exponentially LESS money because the public would've been satiated with his comeuppance. Sorta' like what happened with Broner.
Canelo has made all the money a boxer can make currently (second to Mayweather), and sealed his legacy long ago. If he doesn't fight Benavidez, it won't make a dent in how he's remembered. He's had his boogeyman, and he beat Golovkin.
Beating Benavidez would just be a bonus.
This is the opposite of Mayweather retiring and never fighting Pacquiao. If he had done that, Floyd would've been a hall of famer regardless, but considering how Manny was the other dominant force, his name would always come up in future discussions.
As much as Benavidez is being clamored for, Canelo doesn't have to do ****. Do I want to see it? I mean, sure. Would I be mad if it didn't happen? Not in the slightest.

Canelo has options if he beats Charlo. He can fight Berlanga, Bud, Benavidez, Munguia or possibly Morrell Jr. Benavidez should fight some one with a name during this wait. I don’t know if the kid Morrell is ready for Benavidez, but he’s talking big so I’ll put him on the back burner for now. He’s still learning. Try to make a fight with any of the top contenders so that way he can try to at least force a fight with Canelo. With that said, Canelo doesn’t need Benavidez, but it is a fight diehard fans want to see.landotter likes this.

Seems you're the one hugging Canelo's nuts. Im sure you've claimed he ducked Boo Boo and Charlo too. Real recognize real. And the best of this era gave him his props. Eat a d*** p****.
