If canelo is still canelo and beat charlo and benavidez, the next guy they'll pick is David morell.

him or they'll just go back to calling for a beterbiev fight.

I’ve leaned toward the theory that Canelo actually plans to face Benavidez as part of this three fight deal, as David’s corner have been much quieter than usual about a clash; almost as if it’s a done deal on the stipulation they keep mum. Say what you will about Canelo, but if there’s one thing he’s fairly good at, it’s keeping his cards close to his chest. He was offered Benavidez and Charlo when he accepted the Bivol/GGG offer. I think now that he knows his chances against Dmitry are a dead end, and after a so-so showing from Benavidez against Plant, he’s accepted that original offer.

        We’ll see.

Interesting observation. Seems plausible as the Benavidez clan has been suddenly and uncharacteristically quiet.

Takes one to know one I guess.

I wouldn’t say either are cherry pickers as both have excellent resumes and have fought the best but both have been very selective about when they fight certain opponents.

The fans just want to see good match-ups, but people hold Canelo to a higher standard then any other boxer fighting today. Why is that?

As long as he's still an active Champion in the sport, he'll have to prove that he is the best in the division, against the best fighters in the weight class.
Nobody should be questioning Canelo's record that's already been established, but if he or any other fighter want's to be the best or considered the best right now.
Then there are expectations, and obligations, placed upon you to prove just that each, and every time you step into the squared circle, that's just way of the world.

i disagree... if canelo was still an up and coming fighter, then yes, but at this point, there is nothing left for him to prove..

He’s basically saying it’s cool for Canelo to duck Benavidez if he feels Benavidez will give him that work. Pretty lame of Canelo to do that considering that old versions of Mosley, Floyd and Cotto all gave a young version of Canelo an opportunity which is why he’s currently in the position he’s in. For him not to give the same opportunity to Benavidez is corny as fk.
