I agree with Mayweather. He’s proven himself against the best. He’s older now and is on his way out. I don’t believe it’s a coincidence that he has a 3 fight contract with Benividas’s promoter. People here make a great point that SUDDENLY Benividas and his team are suddenly very quiet. I think Canelo fighting Benividas is a EASIER fight than with Bivol. He may still loose but he wont look as bad as he looked with Bivol. I see no TKO for Benividas. One thing I find interesting about this fight is that Benividas has NEVER been in the ring nor hit by a guy like Canelo. Could be an upset for some people.

Simple, retire if you have nothing left to prove. But fanboys will continue to buy bullshhhhhh and call it amazing matchups.

Boxing is a competitive sport therefore the emphasis will always be on the best to fight the best. Alvarez is without a doubt a first ballot hall of famer but that's when he retires. Right now he's an active champion so delivering the best match ups against Benavidez and other's is necessary. Alvarez said there always be someone after for him to fight, which is true. How do you think you become an all time great? You beat multiple generations of fighters. Those who came before you, with you, and after you. Boxing isn't an an easy sport but this is the life Alvarez chose.

Narratives are always formed of half-truths. And here Mayweather is defending Canelo because Canelo employed the same narrative formulation that he did — fight some tops guys, so you can always say “But I beat the top guys!”, but never, ever mention you fought them well after their prime.

Floyd speaking facts. You beat one boogeyman then your haters find a new boogeyman to latch on to. Charlo is a great fighter. He's definitely more proven than Benavidez who's out here fighting bums and geezers.

If anybody is an expert on cherry picking, it's Floyd. He's practically TBE on cherry picking.

People need to relax a little, cinnabon just starting his PBC 3 fight deal ,you have to be naive to think he wont take on Benny with all the hype behind the matchup ,you think Al /Espinoza wont push for that fight?!...Lol c'mon.

If he's not going to fight the best fighter at 168 then he should give up his belts. If "there is nothing left to prove." If he holds all the belts he has plenry left to prove.
