Comments Thread For: Hearn: I Cannot Believe How Highly People Rate Wilder, He's Never Beaten a Top-Five Foe

Oritz was the obvious answer because he was Joshua's mandatory at one point, and then removed from the rankings and never got his spot back after testing positive for his heart meds if I'm not mistaken. Whyte was offered a fight against against Wilder if he beat Ortiz but declined. He said he was to old but went on to lose to Povetkin who was around the same age.
Povetkin tested positive the week before the fight (He flew to Russia for that fight)
Usyk didn't want the fight
Ruiz didn't want the fight
Joshua didn't take a $50 Mil guarantee.
Who did he miss that actually wanted to fight him? Anyone I could think of that was decent later tested positive for a banned substance.

He just needs to poke Wilders ego enough to have him pull out.
For me, Hearn is trying to awaken the Wilder/Joshua crazies from a few years back

Wilder ducked the Klitschko bros.
Wilder was getting beaten by Ortiz up until the KO. A overhyped 40 year old with high blood pressure was beating Wilder.

I don't disagree but neithers Aj.
Take away all the shot past it 38-41 year olds & who's he beat?
Alway's ducked the top 2 while they've gone on to have the greatest trilogy since Bowe Holyfield in the 90s.
They're both as bad as each other.

Do people really rate Wilder though?
I think most people understand that hes a very limited fighter with a heavily padded record (like most boxers tbh...) but he also has great power, good athleticism and a 6'7 frame, so hes not completely shyt. Hes also very entertaining to watch.
One thing I will say is I dont buy that hes automatically a top 3 HW today. But then again I have the same opinion on Joshua. They are both vulnerable and beatable vs more than just Fury or Usyk imo.

I can't believe Hearn can say something like this and honestly believe it while he continued to have his fighter avoid Wilder like the plague for years. Surely they're going to make the fight happen now as Wilder pushes nearer to 40 and it's a mega money fight to just let go.
Wilder took a fight 3 times with a guy AJ would have no business trying to fight (Fury). Wilder showed more heart in those fights than AJ did in his 1 fight with Andy. Not to mention his rematch embarrassment. Andy look like he ate the stay puff marshmallow man and AJ was scared straight to seriously engage with Andy.

Wilder was mauled by a bear. And STILL wanted more smoke.
That's why.
