    Since August 2021:

Fury beat Wilder, Whyte, and Chisora, and will fight the mma guy soon.

Joshua lost to Uzyk, and beat Franklin, and will fight Helenius very soon.

Wilder lost to Fury and beat Helenius. No fight scheduled.

Under normal circumstances, a terrible choice of opponent for Joshua. Under the actual circusmtances, I don't think there can be any complaints. There is a four days to the fight! Four days! Those saying they wanted Hrgovic, do you really think he would take a fight on that kind of notice?

      Regarding the fight posters:

Joshua vs Whyte -- a history of violence
Joshua vs Helenius -- a history of avoiding the dentist.

Fury may make the fight look easy because he is a big guy and can move around and dodge punches easily, but not a lot of current HW boxers will do that in my opinion. I wouldn't be surprised if Ngannou actually gets a ranking between 5-15 if he continues to fight HW boxing. MMA is a superset of boxing so his transition would be easier compared to a boxer going to MMA.

Everybody who throws down in Boxing (Or modern MMA too for the most part) is a respectible brusier, and even the bottom 500 of the current 2,491 active heavyweights are Bikers, Bouncers, MMA veterans, Special Ops soldiers, street fighter brusier types who nobody posting here wants to meet in a dark alley. The other 2,000 are better than that. Helenius is Number 25.

You see Helenius go down against Wilder, and think that you've got him figured out?

Some guy an amateur could step in against and beat?

          I think you're missing something.

I was in Denver in 93', those who cranked out the Unified Rules of MMA and saved the sport in the US before it went belly up in Japan are friends of mine, and I know my combat sports - all.
I know how fundamental Boxing is to MMA and that Francis Ngannou is a trained boxer from age 22 to 26, who brought that to Fernand Lopez at the MMA Factory in Paris in 2013, who convinced him to try MMA even though Ngannou originally wanted to pursue professional boxing, his core base Martial Art.

Fairly quickly, Ngannou tacked on enough wrestling, submission grappling & Muay Thai to weave his Boxing into the rules of MMA and win there in November of that year.
Inside of 36 months he began smashing up the world’s best MMA fighters using his style.
Over the following months he was blowing away a who's who of former UFC heavyweight champions, ultimately achieving complete dominance over the sport virtually unmatched in the sport's short 30 year history.

And still, he is a Boxer foremost who sees the UFC as no more than a modest paying stepping stone to now finally do what he feels he does best.

So he's no chump, and no newcomer to Boxing. Moreover, hes an exceptional natural fighter and natural athlete.

He may get somewhere in the boxing ranks, or may learn how far he's got to go courteously of Fury and decide it's easier to return to the UFC and try smashing up Jon Jones to get his title back instead.

Or, he might catch Fury clowing and land a magic haymaker and take the lineal Heavyweight Championship of the World off of him. A prize FAR GREATER than any WBC, WBA, IBF, WBO or WBU strap.

          Either way my friend.....
It's tremendously nieve to think that a career Boxer like Robert Helenius would have any trouble beating the daylights out of Francis Ngannou in the ring.
And possibly, in a dark alley as well.

But these things are what makes us all post.....and watch.

By any chance did you see his fight with Deontay Wilder? He laid on the canvas consciously for over ten minutes. As Wilder hardly even hit him. Speaking of selling it.

Winner of this one, fights the winner of Joyce vs Shang Tsung?

Do you consider Ngannou an amateur?

No, I am not stepping up nor have I "figured out" Helenius. I comment and put my opinion based on what I have seen. I am sure you have your friends who wrote up the entire MMA but that is completely irrelevant to the point we are making here. I can also assure you that I did not start watching boxing the day Wilder KO'ed Helenius to base my opinion solely on that.

Helenius may be a career boxer but all careers come to an end and Helenius is at that tail end. Not every fighter ages gracefully and retain their competitiveness as they age. Styles also make fights. Helenius is aging and I don't think his style or fitness has helped him to age in the best way as a fighter.

It would be more difficult to argue for Ngannou to outpoint Helenius but one could certainly argue that Helenius getting KO'ed by Ngannou won't be that surprising, particularly since Ngannou is not some kind of novice who started punching the day his Fury fight was announced as many here would like to paint.

So even late replacement is better than Fury`s next opponent.

I am looking forward to see Hrgovic - McKean, so I am happy the event is on. Helenius can probably retire after this another pay day.

                      Rubish era, the worst ever.

Prime Mercer would clean the division.
