I might pause before picking him against Adames or Jermall Charlo at 160, and I definitely wouldn't throw him in there with a guy on the level of a prime GGG/Canelo/Jacobs, but I honestly think he could pick off a weak titlist at 160.
But first things first, get that lineal title in a fourth division. Only Floyd and Pac have done that. And then, if possible, clean up the other belts to become undisputed in a 3rd division.
And after all that, if there's a weak titlist at 160, take one more fight. If not, retire. Because getting a belt at 160 would put him on another exclusive list: only Hearns, Leonard, De La Hoya, Floyd, and Pac have won a major belt in 5 divisions, and Hitman's WBO cruiserweight title was from way before the WBO was recognized by the WBC, WBA, or IBF.Comment

154 is fine for him, he can beat whomever is considered the best there. he can beat tim and charlo and be undisputed there.
problem with a lot of extreme weight jumps there is usually an asterisk with them. Like Pac's 8th title at a catchweight. Or canelo asking for rehydration limits. or RJJ while he got his win over ruiz fair and square he also found a plodding sluggish heavyweigt on the smaller side who had a belt that was tailor made for him. And on top of that you have to consider that Ruiz was only ever a champion because he was protected from fighting Lennox by don king.
Rather see crawford be legit top undisputed guy at 154 and really cement his legacy than take a 42-43 year old GGG for example who you can argue only even still has his titles due to a gift decision against Sergiy Derevyanchenko, how meaningful will that middleweight title be? it would always have an astrix next to it.Last edited by elfag; 08-05-2023, 12:27 AM.Comment

Would you honestly pick Lara, Gualtieri, or Janibek in a fight against Crawford right now?

But by then he will be approaching 40 years old.Comment

But again, I agree that his priority should be the lineal title at 154, then the undisputed title at 154 if he can. After that, take a read of his recent performances and look at who the current titlists are and make a decision from there. A belt at 160 would be the cherry on top, it's not necessary.Comment

he's literally talking about going to 154. He started out as a freaking lightweight. How many former lightweights have fought past the 154 weight division with any success? Duran and Henry Armstrong are the only 2 I can think of. Floyd and Pac stopped at 154. Just admit that you want Crawford to lose.
He fought a welterweight at a catchweight of 150, who as coming off a KO loss to another 147lber.
8 division champ my foot.Comment

Usyk could if he beats Fury but I highly doubt he beats him.

Moving up in weight once you get to the higher weight classes is just very different than the lower weight classes. Pac was a unique situation because he started off so scrawny. He was also a fairly small WW, but just about belonged.
I think Crawford going from LW to 154 not to just dip his toes, but to takeover, is insane. People already said he was too small for welterweight.
I tried many times to convince people that it's all horse poop but no one would listen.

. That's how you know people who wants to make themselves look good after nonsense opinion instead of admitting he was wrong he wanted to change narrative but he got caught already
