He went from being a terrific puncher to a pillow fisted boxer, one of his most important assets, so yeah its ****** to think his later years were his prime years when he was at his most explosive, dominant and best at his natural weight.

Let's also not forget the WW division back then was made up of people moving up with no natural talented WW, so we'll never know how truly good he was at WW.

Prime Floyd was 130-140. Welter weight Crawford beats floyd. Too big

Man thank you to Crawford, Inoue, Tank and the other guys now making boxing exciting to watch again. None of the bullsheet in the previous era.

That being said I do think it's a tough fight, but I'd go with Crawford just because I think he's more proven at the elite level. Honestly if Dela Hoya was even two years younger, I could see a draw or Mayweather losing to him. That tells me Mayweather probably not going to dominate at that level like many assume he would without evidence.

Floyd was 37 years old when he fought maidana and now you want to talk primes, does floyd ever get to be in his prime or only his opponents? for ***s sake we dont even know what spence and crawford look like at 37 years old

De La Hoya is bigger than Crawford is and Floyd was able to beat him. De La Hoya was also a year younger than Crawford is now when Floyd beat him.
I think a fight between Floyd and Terence is highly competitive but I'd give the edge to Floyd. He is way better than Spence is defensively while also being more accurate.

Floyd is hands down one of the GOAT's. I think he would figure out a way to beat Crawford. They are both skillful and masters of their own craft, but I think I would lean the edge towards Money May.

However, I do think Crawford would trouble Floyd and give him some problems. It will be a chess match for sure.

People too often focus Mayweather’s defense, but most of his close fights were those where his offense was less effective and efficient (aside from Maidana I and Castillo I both of whom smothered him on the inside).

Southpaws, especially, gave him real issues in that department. His accuracy at long range was diminished against southpaws, which is why he had to get out of his comfort zone, press the fight and be at close range to be his usual self.

Pacquiao’s ring generalship, strength, speed, and counterpunching took the press the fight option out of his hands and made him fight a gunshy/cagey fight from long range. He out pointed Pacquiao, but he was uncomfortable and couldn’t get anything going despite pleas from Sr. to be more aggressive.

This performance from Crawford told me that he has all of the tools to beat Mayweather. Terrence would stay southpaw, make Floyd fight an uncomfortable, gunshy/cagey, long range fight except Crawford has a punishing jab and long reach to win the lulls, and a mean streak that would make him get rough with Floyd when he has to, to make the discomfort even more. I think Crawford beats him.

Floyd would not get into the ring with a southpaw THIS good.
