And I don't think he is necessary on the decline but rather is just hitting his ceiling.Last edited by ReggieKray; 05-07-2023, 01:35 AM.Comment

It's funny that you can say he looked like crap winning a near shutout fight. It sounds like your just a hater...Comment

As far as I'm concerned, I see him more or less as the guy who looked unremarkable against Mayweather and carefully picked every opponent judge, and referee ever since...with the obvious exception of having picked Bivol (I made a thread, which you posted in, stating I didn't think it would go well for him). I also saw him as someone suspect of eating Mexican beef, and I think those sentiments make it easy for a lot of people to gloat over glitches in his game today. Nobody even remembered he was fighting Ryder tonight, and everyone who saw it will quickly forget that he did.Comment

Not sure what any of that has to do with the fact that Bivol is a small LHW, and why he's never going to move up because of that. But in any case, I never trashed him for losing. I thought it was bad judgment on his behalf for thinking he could win, and even worse judgment now for pursing a rematch (which somehow I doubt he will still pursue). Clearly, his best days are behind him, and any of the top 168 lb guys will give him trouble, and Bivol will make him look terrible.

Some people picked this fight as soon as it was made. Kudos. Still is considered an upset.
And plenty are still calling Biv a cherry..
The better man won and might win again. Since when is trying to avenge a lose a waste of time ?
I'm not a fan of Nelo at this weight. I don't know what he's trying to prove.
Losing to May, or any legit top guy, is a likely outcome for most boxers.
Since his fight with May -
Angulo, meh
Lara, contested. Lara being Lara
Kirkland, meh
Cotto, props
Khan, moving on
Smith, props
JCC jr,
GGG, great fight. This is where I think the hate began
GGG, even better because the winner was more clear
Rocky, meh
Jacobs, decent

Yildy, meh
BHS, props
Plant, props
Biv, props for the effort
GGG, zzz
Ryder, meh
On the surface, one might say big freackin deal.
To put into perspective, it looks much better in comparison.
Consider the resumes of those more ''loved'' than Nelo and the perception will change.
I'm not a guy who gives roid/PEDs/buff beef much attention.
The outcome is 55/45 at best.
It's not as if Nelo was the 1st Mexican who got popped.
To think that gave him an edge ? I don't buy it.
IIRC, Erik lost his buff beef fight.
Ryder was a typical tune up fight. Not every tune up fight ends with the bum getting KTFO.
Sometimes a bum will have a great outing (this was not one of those moments).
The MW is filled with them and no one trashed GGG for holding the titles.
IMHO, Nelo is criticized way too unfairly while other fighters get praise.Comment
