Pacquiao Could Retire Without Mayweather, Says Roach

  • The fact is that Pac was praised to the high heavens for beating De La Hoya at 147 and demolished Hatton, both common opponents with Mayweather, and is now facing a Welter Weight.

Mayweather-Pac is the fight the public is clamoring for, yet now Pac is the smaller man.

That doesn't sound right when Freddie himself states that Manny's best fighting weight is 149.

I would understand if Pacquiao struggled and/or was beaten by Oscar, and returned back to the LW division. But he's at WW for a reason.
He wants to prove he can hang with the Welters and win championships.

Now all of a sudden he isnt?
Look, I said what I said about Mayweather's opportunistic ways. I had to point out the way Pacquiao has been coddled as well. I like Pacquiao and I'm a fan, but it's just that I think that Roach and Arum keep him away from fighters who are either slick or in their prime. I don't care for Floyd at all. Cotto is a tough fighter, but I don't think that Arum would let that fight happen if he didn't promote both guys. He never throws his fighters in dangerous fights unless he can keep everything in house. And even though I think Cotto is good, he is still overrated and he has put up questionable performances against the elite fighters he has fought.

You go find me a site that records "unofficial weights" on fight night.....lol....Fact of the matter is he has made a history of fighting SMALLER fighters. Official weights are what's recorded along with the height and reach of the fighters. Fact is Floyd has been real ***** LIKE since he jumped to 140. He has yet to fight ANYONE remotely threatening that 0. His excuse for not fighting Shane is nowhere near legit. I hope Cotto wins and faces Margarito which leaves him no viable option besides someone who own size. Unless Juan Diaz calls him out. Oh yeah, come to think about it, he STILL has unfinished business with Casamayor. Yeah. He does have a few options at Lightweight still....lol
just as i expected. You would make a claim and could not back it. You said he was bigger than 35 of his opponents and you didnt post ONE fighter.... Good look Soy, thanks for speaking the truth to this guy.

        • I couldn't agree more. Basing on their respective performances against their common opponents, i.e. Marquez, Dela Hoya and Hatton, Pacquiao is definitely better than Mayweather. Our champ doesn't need Mayweather. He could retire after he destroys Cotto, enjoy the fruits of his labor with his beloved family and countrymen, and concentrate in his political career. What an honorable exit for our champ.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. 5'8, 72' reach
            Tony Pep bigger
Victoriano Sosa- height and reach not listed
            Carlos Gerena- taller, shorter reach
Corrales- was taller but had a shorter reach 70' which I stated
            Ganero Hernandez taller
            Ndou bigger
            JLC- same height, shorter reach
            Gatti 5'7 70' reach
            Mitchell 5'7 72 reach
            Baldomir 5'7 70' reach

I was off by 2. Sue me. Fact is a vast MAJORITY of his oppenents have been SHORTER with a SHORTER reach. You mean to tell me by being off by 2 makes my point any less valid?

              • That's that ***** ass over rated trainer freddie roach doing all the talking. He must be manny's mouthpiece. Freddie knows Floyd will beat the hell out of Manny that's why he is saying that Manny don't need Floyd. He knows that his days are numbered. I can't wait till Manny gets out of the game. I hope Cotto bust his head wide open

I guess Ali Funeka is bigger then Mayweather also. You're an idiot, bigger (In Boxing) is indicated by weight, not only were the few that I mentioned taller, they weighed more. Hence, they were bigger.

I see Manny winning a unanimous decision due to knockdowns of Cotto...

Cotto may no more than 5 rounds...

But it will not be enough...

It's going to be target practice..

Cotto's gonna have another cut above his eye ...

                      Blood will be everywhere...

There will be a head butt that will cut Pacquiao ...

that might give Manny a challenge ....

this might be another Morales vs Pacquiao fight 1...

Speed is kills in boxing ...

                      Pacquiao is a killer..

                      He is next level ...

                      He is a beast ...

He is sick in skills ...

His left is insane and will not be seen ...

Cotto does not move his head ...

He might move his feet ...

But Pacquiao will chase him down wisely using feints and quick head movements ....

And Cotto will not see it ...

There will be a lot of knockdowns ....

And Pacman is going to give credit to Cotto for being able to get up
                      6 times ...

The ref might stop the fight ...

How long did it take Cotto to KO Judah ...

As I can remember Judah won some rounds but the
lack of stamina kicked in....or maybe Cotto wore him down ...

but Pacquiao is not stop every single round...
                      attack attack attck

Pacquiao has boxing skills also ...

Cotto either fights real real close on the inside ...or he is trying to box from the distance ...

Pacquiao will force proper distance if Cotto tries to get too close ...and
damn that speedy left to Cotto's face will be non stop ...

if Cotto tries to box Pacman will cut off the ring and attack the body and throw hooks and uppercuts too the face ...

down goes Cotto .. down goes Cotto

just look at the training ....

                      Cotto trains slow ...

he is gonna fight slow ...

well he is faster than me...

                      and some other boxers...

but against Pacquiao or Mayweather ...

                      TOO SLOW COTTO
