Floyd is going to fight the winner of Cotto/Pac, then Mosely, then Berto, then retire. But I think he's going to fight Miguel Cotto regardless...that will be his toughest fight but I think he wins.
Mayweather Says Mosley Missed His Chance, Twice

Why on earth would he fight Berto? You know full well Floyd is all about the dough.Comment

whoever the winner is on nov 14 is the most logical opponent for floyd IMO...the money is too much for him to pass!Comment

No, he has a problem with tall fighters. Except Cotto, but most people consider that he's been rejuvenated since the Cotto fight and is back to his best form.
Floyd Snr and Roger Mayweather have both frequently said that Mosley is the toughest fight out there for Floyd.Last edited by Dave Rado; 09-28-2009, 05:56 AM.Comment

I brought up Vitali to make the point that age is irrelevent, what matters is who is ranked #1. Are you really too ****** to understand that point?
Why are Floyd fans so anally obsessed with losses? All that matters in sport is someone's ranking now. Ali must have been a lousy fighter in the eyes of idiots like you - he lost regularly.
The truly great fighters test themselves against the best possible opponents all the time, and because of that, they lose occasionally. Ray Robinson, Henry Armstrong, Willie Pep, all lost periodically throughout their careers. I suppose you think they were all lousy fighters as well.

Floyd is going to fight the winner of Pac/Cotto, so Mosely is going to have to wait. He owes Shane 'toothache' Mosely nothing.Comment

Boxing is a sport. If Usain Bolt refused to race against Tyson Gay because he doesn't want Tyson Gay to make money due to some hurt feelings about something that happened in the past, he'd be rightly derided by all athletics fans. And all genuine boxing fans deride Floyd for having that ridiculous attitude. Great fighters want to test themselves against the best possible opposition. Floyd doesn't. And anyone who defends such a pathetic attitude in a sportsman is not a boxing fan.Comment

I cant believe some of the **** I'm reading. Who wouldnt want to see Mayweather vs Mosley? The biggest fights out their for Mayweather involve the Paq vs Cotto winner and Mosley. For the people that **** on a Floyd vs Shane fight would you rather see him fight Rafael Marquez, Vic Darchinyian or someones sister? absurd.Comment

No one ever fights anyone because they owe them anything, you crackpot. Mayweather owes boxing fans something. Boxing fans made him what he is. Every penny he has and every ounce of respect that he's gained would have been impossible without boxing fans. He owes it to boxing fans to fight the best possible opponents. That opponent is currently Mosley.
And the idea that it's somehow either/or is ridiculous. Do you really think Mayweather is going to lose his next fight and then retire??? If not, then he can have more than one fight.
He can and should fight both Mosley and the Cotto-Pac winner, and given that Cotto-Pac won't happen until November, it makes sense from every imaginable point of view for him to fight Mosley first.
1) Mosley is available before the Cotto Pac winner.
2) Mosley-Mayweather would be for The Ring belt and the lineal title, because they are currently ranked #1 and #2. Then the winner vs. the Pac-Cotto winner would be for all the marbles, and would be the biggest fight since Hagler-Hearns. Fighting them in the opposite order doesn't make nearly as much sense in terms of divisional clarity, or commercially.
3) The Mosley fight would be far easier to negotiate. Mosley won't make big demands in terms of percentages, he just wants to make the fight.Last edited by Dave Rado; 09-28-2009, 06:04 AM.Comment

Anyone who cares about the sport of boxing wants to see the best fight the best. Clearly most of Mayweather's fans don't.Last edited by Dave Rado; 09-28-2009, 06:00 AM.Comment
