I don't want to see Mosley fight anybody else but Mayweather and I don't want to see Mayweather fight anybody else but Mosley. The thing that makes this fight a mega fight to me is that both of these guys were P4P kings at one time, and they are both speedy boxers. Lets do it to it.
exactly, they are crying like hell.
If Pacquiao beats cotto.
He will have became the wba welterweight champion.
So in essense Floyd vs. pacquiao will be for the WW title.
and probably Lineal Championship.
How ironic would it be for the lineal WW championship to be determine by
a fighter who the welterweight divison is his 4th weight class in Mayweather
and for Pacquiao who the Welterweight division would be his 7th...
So Mayweather would be fighting a welterweight champion if Pacquiao beats Cotto.
and most likely it would be for the number #1 spot in the division.
since floyd is the former lineal champion and Pacquiao would be the wba champion
lol do you know what you talking about? Do you know who has the WBA belt? How do you figure that Pac beating Cotto would get him the WBA belt? Since neither fighter is the WBA champ.
Also, Shane is the linear champion. So there can not be a fight for the lineage that does not involve Shane.
But, relly do you who the WBA champ is?Comment

Aww man you beat me to it. I just wrote a post to the same dud about his comment of the WBA title.Comment

Mayweather is better off fighting Cotto that is, IF Cotto beats Pacquiao. By doing so he arguably beats Mosley as well. If the test is: "beat the best" then Mayweather can take on Cotto and say he beat the guy who beat the other two guys, who are considered the best...and at the same time go a long way in enhancing his legacy. If Cotto doesn't beat Pac then Mayweather does have his pic between Mosley and Pac as far as legacy enhancement: Pac brings more notability and money, Mosley give him more validity and prestige.Comment

If Shane Mosley thought last weekend's stunt will lure Floyd Mayweather Jr. into a fight - he was wrong. Following Floyd's dominating win over Juan Manuel Marquez last Saturday at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Mosley and his Golden Boy Promotions partner Bernard Hopkins entered the ring. A war of words broke out between Mosley/Hopkins and Mayweather. [details]
this fight would have been competitive 6-7 years ago, but mayweather would easily out class mosley right now.Comment

Easy question. Im glad you asked. Because The 38 year old version with 5 losses just murdered Margarito. That says a lot. Also the myth of age with fighters...as a fighter myself, is illogical. Younger dont mean better all the time. Plenty of older versions have taken down broke apart and schooled fighters as if they were in there 20,s ! You can also learn so much from losing as well. Losing just shows you what you need to be better at and polish more. It dont mean you are a **** fighter all the time. unless you lose all the time. If that were the case i guess you can say Sugar Ray Robinson was a bum then Huh?
SSM isa very determined Skilled strong hungry fast same size great fighter...Nothing to Floyds Advantage. Because they no 38 dont mean nothing.Comment

ATG status is based on who fighters beat, not on who their fans think they woulda coulda beaten. If he doesn't want to fight the best possible opponents he should retire again now.
Mosley lost to very tall boxers, Mayweather isn't very tall.
Not if you're a boxing fan you don't. His point of view stinks. Mosley is the #1 ranked fighter in Mayweather's weight class. If he doesn't want to fight the best possible opposition in his own weight class, then he should retire again now, and good riddance to him. And to all the so-called fans who try to defend the indefensible.
If Mayweather were to fight PWill or Pavlik at 160lb now, no one would accuse him of ducking Mosley in that situation - in fact he'd get massive respect if he were to do that - but that is an exact analogy of the situation Mosley was in in 1999.
The ****** thing is, Mayweather could have got back a lot of the respect that he's lost in recent years by fighting and beating Mosley, and the Cotto-Pac winner, and then ideally, PWill at 147. But he's blowing it big time with his ridiculous attitude.Last edited by Dave Rado; 09-27-2009, 07:28 PM.Comment
